New Goalkeeper

Tottenham have reportedly agreed on a deal for 24-year-old goalkeeper Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce and sign him on a free transfer.
According to Fotospor, Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed to sign 24-year-old goalkeeper Altay Bayindir. The Fenerbahce star will become a free agent in the summer, with Spurs snapping up one of the top Turkish talents to replace Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham Hotspur have many important decisions to make in the transfer market when the season ends. For starters, there’s the impending question about Antonio Conte’s future, and irrespective of who manages the club, they will need several players in important positions.

Defenders and midfielders are key to their success next season, and Spurs will go in for a few notable names in the summer. Meanwhile, there’s a glaring need for a new goalkeeper, with Tottenham likely to go for a young but experienced player for the long term.

Bayindir is one of the top talents coming out of Turkey, where he’s a regular for Fenerbahce. He also takes steady strides toward becoming the No.1 for the national side, and hence Spurs will consider him as a direct replacement for Lloris.

In the initial season, the 24-year-old goalkeeper could play understudy to the veteran goalkeeper. He could become their undisputed No.1 for years to come if he succeeds in the Premier League.

Alternatively, he could become an alternative to a first-choice star. Irrespective of the agreed-upon deal, Tottenham could sign an established, Premier League-proven goalkeeper to replace Lloris and add quality to their depth with Bayindir.

He has 5 Turkish caps and is destined to be their first choice keeper very soon.

If he is good enough then it doesn’t matter is he is a freebie or costs £50m, we need good players.

If this guy is coming in and not costing anything then hopefully it means Levy is going actually buy us the defence we need.

Better still, maybe Levy will faaack off

Really hoping Levy goes. He's so hungry for power. Hoe csnnhe insist he wants to stay on if the club is bought? Which buyer would agree to that??

I see Alfie Whiteman has signed a new contract to him up to 2025, is neither he nor Brandon Austin not good enough, they've been there years? Both 24yrs old and clearly (and sadly) never going to get into the 1st team.

Yeh I never quite get why goalies are just happy to be 2nd or 3rd choice goalies, when they are never going to get any game time. Surely he would be better leaving and going and playing for a 1st division or even Championship side, and getting regular football.

He has obviously just signed a new contract because of the money he is on for doing in reality SFA.

I`ve no idea whether this GK is good enough, what is he like with his feet also. If he is free then it is probably a no brainer and low risk though.

I would prefer a PL proven GK though, a guaranteed performer who will settle straight in.

I wonder is this GK deal something to do with Spurs allowing Moura to go to Fenerbahce before the end of the season..

Nothing to do with them if he's out of contract though.

Highly rated keeper, lets see how he adapts.

Yeah true.. just I was thinking of how the clubs are communicating in good faith

Also found it strange that Moura came on as a sub in our last game over Danjuma, when the club were already probably aware Moura is leaving in the coming weeks or days

Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili, Brentford's David Raya, Brighton's Robert Sánchez and AC Milan's Mike Maignan are all on #thfc's list of replacements for Hugo Lloris. | @AlasdairGold
