Daniel Levy

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/02/24/daniel-levy-banks-half-million-pay-rise-amid-tottenham-fans/

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy awarded himself a pay rise of more than £500,000, despite coming under fire from the club’s fans.

And the Spurs directors earned almost £3million more than the previous year, according to the club’s latest set of accounts for the year ending June 2022.

Levy earned £3.265m in 2022, in comparison to £2.698m the previous year, while the total pocketed by Tottenham’s directors was £6.773m, up from £4m.

While Levy still earned less than he did in June 30 2019, when the 61-year-old was paid a salary of £4m and a £3m bonus for the completion of the stadium, his wages are still likely to provoke scrutiny.

Tottenham are yet to win a trophy since 2008 with doubts hanging over the long-term futures of head coach Antonio Conte and record goalscorer Harry Kane.

Levy has faced chants of ‘get out of our club’ from supporters this season even though Tottenham go into Sunday’s game against Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table and are still in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Other than Levy, Tottenham have six directors, including managing director of football Fabio Paratici, who is waiting to find out whether he will have to serve a worldwide ban from working in football, and chief commercial officer Todd Kline, who is yet to secure a stadium naming rights deal following his appointment two years ago.

Tottenham recently lost a proposed £42.5m sponsorship deal with South Africa with the country’s parliament tourism committee chairperson Tandi Mahambehlala saying: “This deal, it ends here, today, now. Because there is everything wrong about the deal itself. There must be an investigation on this matter with immediate effect."

The other Tottenham directors are Donna-Maria Cullen, who is the club’s executive director, operations and finance director Matthew Collecott, director of football administration and governance Rebecca Caplehorn and non-executive director Jonathan Turner.

Tottenham’s accounts also show that the club have seen over £300,000 wiped off the value of a sponsorship deal that was hailed as the first of its kind by Cullen in February 2021.

VivoPower was named Tottenham’s ‘official battery technology partner’ two years ago and the accounts show that shares held in the company by the club, as part of a sponsorship arrangement, have dropped in value from £363,000 to just £57,000.

While the accounts published on the Tottenham club website do not list VivoPower under the ‘Investments in financial assets’ section, the drop in the share value is detailed on the version listed on Companies House.

Vivopower are owned by global enterprise firm Arowana, for whom Cullen’s son, Alexander Assim, is an investment director.

Announcing Tottenham’s partnership with VivoPower in February 2021, Cullen said: “It is the first partnership of its kind within the world of football and shows Club’s intent to reduce its carbon emissions. The work of companies like VivoPower with businesses like ours could be seen in years to come as an essential part of limiting the impacts of climate change."

Yeah...that needs explaining.
And just look where the Arsenholes are?
There's a lesson for Levy & Lewis there!

Fans want him to leave because he's making an absolute fortune while not spending the club's own money (ie. the profits that pay his dividend) on the squad.

This of course is exactly why there is absolutely no reason why he would ever want to leave

Think he's earned it tbh. To bring your club where it is, from where it was 20 years ago is incredible.

And he's also earned a good sack imo

Any chairman of a football club, that has spent so much to increase its stadium capacity but club has failed to win any trophy under his tenure, is a disgraceful record for Spurs. Spurs were winning trophies prior to Baldy. We weren't in top 4, but had trophies every other season (maybe a few more years sometimes or years ending with 1 only!)

He needs to go now...I have no desire to see a chairman who thinks a club is successful if it has ZERO trophy but has a 60k+ capacity stadium!

With the talent we have, the club just needed high quality investment of 3/4 players to make the next step, but that was torpedoed by him for capacity increase, and we end up with nothing.

Levy claims to be a lifelong massive Spurs fan, which is debatable given how he operates, he won`t ever go the extra mile or push the boat out like most true fans would if they were in his position. The balance sheet is always king with Blofeld.

To top it off Billy, Arsenal are potentially going to win the title. 1st time in years they are going to finish above us and take the title. All under baldies watch. We had countless opportunities to push on and he never went down the route like Arsenal have. Never truly backed any manager.

And the Arsenholes are doing it with half the expenditure on executive salaries of Tottenham!
