So news is coming out that the emptyhad is increasing its capacity to 61,000 which not only means an increase of 10,000 extra empty seats, but the stadium will also overtake the Emirates in capacity size.
Arsenals ground will therefore be the 5th biggest in the premier league.
Not only does this show to me that we built the stadium too small back in 2006, but now we should look to increase the size to 70-80k.
Unfortunately i think that may be difficult as the council will probably not allow it.
Do you think the Emirates needs extending? Especially with growing waiting lists and people missing out on tickets.
Should the Emirates be extended?

Lots of clubs in Italy downsizing into smaller stadiums. Super size stadiums are pointless and a waste of money.
If you’ve been to Wembley you realise the view was better with the pillars

Do Arsenal fans still use forged Blue Badges to park at the Emirates?

It’s big enough. The club charges an extortion. Don’t need them to rob more ppl

Go for it - it’s not like you are going to get any noise complaints from your neighbours

10000 extra empty seats for the emptihad and 10k extra for the Library. Would really add to the acoustics of silence (except for when United rock up)

Well, if the Grove went from 60,000 to 80,000 they'd have no problem selling the tickets, right now tickets on ticket exchange are selling within 5 minutes - it's the Council that would have the problem with it, I expect that they would want money to increase the transport links.

I remember reading that it was designed so that we could increase capacity by quite a bit (10k+ maybe) without any major renovations, by cramming in more seats - filling in some of the gaps at the top of the stands, and maybe lowering the pitch. As others have said, the problem is that Islington council placed a limit on capacity, and would need some convincing to move on that, probably involving us paying to upgrade at least one tube station.
