Bye Harry

Harry’s face said it all at the final whistle. I don’t blame him for moving on, which is likely to be in a few month’s time. This club has robbed one of the greatest English strikers of all time of any opportunity to win a trophy. Disgraceful.

Farewell Harry, thank you for all of the goals over the years and the fond memories that I’ll have. It’s a shame that the club has not built a better team around you and you could not fulfil your potential in a Spurs shirt.

You should probably read up on ffp. And then look up the league tables for every year since 2014. Then you might realise what an absolute crock of shiiiiit your post is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2014 to now has got nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I'm only referring to the tightening of the rules and new FFP regulations from 2024/2025 season onwards. It's not where we've been, but where we're stepping into.

Yeah I was gonna say, fridgeboy. We've had FFP for over 10 years, your post reads like someone who's just heard of it for the first time. And FWIW Liverpool's revenue isn't that far off United's. Chelsea are not far behind the pair of them (less than 100m) and we're closing fast aswell.

Of course clubs with less money can be competitive. You just have to have a really good plan and strategy for achieving it..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Read my response above. I'm talking about impending FFP changes, not the loose watered down restrictions we've seen up to now. Clubs until now have been able to circumvent the rules. Not any more. That's where I worry about the chasing pack and their ability to even get close to United long term. Trust me on this, my gripe has absolutely nothing to do with the introduction of the FFP rules in 2009 up to now. Nothing of the sort. Don't look back, look forward. That's where the issue lies.

You should probably go and look those up as well then. Then look up the revenues of clubs like City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal and how much money they’ll be able to spend. You’ll arrive at the same conclusion: your post is an absolute crock of shiiiiiit.

Yeah I did while you were typing that. It's one thing that's actually counter to the whole Levy Out argument. We're really well placed for rules like that to come in. The idea being that rich owners can't dump money into the playing squads anymore. And as far as I can find, we're in a better place in terms of wages and amortization to revenue % than the rest of the top 6.

Obviously that changes a bit year on year but, basically, these new rules will play into our hands for more than most.

They can dump money into the playing squads, though. FFP and the new Financial Sustainability regulations never prohibited owners from doing that. They just prohibited them from doing it on the scale of Chelsea, City and PSG.

You only have to look at Chelsea this season. Their owners have heavily financed their ridiculous spending, but their books will cover it because of the way it’s calculated.

Ironically, the thing that may lead to his prediction coming anywhere near true would be for United to have the Qatari owners pumping stupid money into the club.

But then you have to consider the other side of that being that if the Emir has the controlling interest like he does PSG that United still would struggle to establish a meaningful dynasty.

Right yeah, and they've closed the Boehly loophole right? So it's only 5 years of amortization now.

And yeah they can to a very limited extent - up to €60m losses over 3 years is nothing. They wouldn't be able to write it off like Roman did as the new rules specifically refer to a percentage of revenue, not just profit and loss.

To fridgeboy's point, though, of course these rules allow the clubs earning more to spend more. But that is and has always been true. I guess the alternative is £amount caps on spending.. but that wouldn't be helpful in a football pyramid. And even if you really tried, you'd have to set the cap so high most of the teams would never reach it anyway. Or would go bust trying

How Shlt are we gonna be when he leaves... without him we are basically a championship side...

He's basically the best player in the spurs squad in multiple different positions... best goal scorer, creative passer, assist maker and has the best attitude... he's basically better defending in his own box than most of of our center backs... without him, we are pathetic

This comment is absolutely true!
And my betting says Harry will be off to........Real Madrid.
