That's now 30 wins in his first 41 games at the club and in English football. The job he's done so far is nothing short of remarkable given the rotten dressing room he inherited. Even more remarkable after losing our first two games and the Ronaldo saga too.
I dont stress and panic when we concede anymore. You just know we will get back into the game and pull through. He's a special manager. Boy we should be glad we didn't go for Conte. Finally a big decision this board got right.
We won't be winning the league this year but I'm confident we can finish top 3. With the league cup already in the bag and a chance at two other cups this is surely heading to be a memorable first season for him.

RR, issue is that we could end up like we’ve seen under Ole where we end up flopping in the cups at the end because we’ve not adequately rotated the squad. Getting the balance between momentum and rotation is something we’ll need to be conscious of.
With regard to getting pulled back into the pack below, I think beating Liverpool will go a long way to pretty much cementing a top four place. Them and Newcastle don’t look like they’ll put the sort of run together needed to overtake us.

Thanks fellas. All is well.
The days seem brighter at the club these days for sure.
I see the cautionary remarks about us prioritising the league but the gap isn't insurmountable.
We should just take one game at a time and thankfully, he rotated somewhat (not nearly enough) yesterday against West Ham. I look around at the clubs in Europe and there is no juggernaut; all teams have flaws and we have as good a chance as ever before. Damn those two opening losses.
Dare to dream I say.

We could have done with Grimsby rather than Fulham in the next round.

A win against Liverpool would be great. Excusing some key players from playing 90 minutes last night hopefully raised our chances of doing that. I endorse rotation in the cups!
By the way, I gather that Real Betis will be missing their key creative player Nabil Fekir. Would be good if those fixtures weren't too energy sapping.

Looking at their recent results it seems they’re scoring goals but concede quite a few, but Fekir is their best player, by all accounts.

I think he has done wonders to stop the rot but some are going a bit overboard. It's man United. Paying over the odds and spending badly almost became the norm.
I'd say the urgent level is the bare minimum you'd expect from United with their investment but United have still conceded too many goals. United competing for CL and league should be the marker. This is a move in the right direction 100%. United game management is much much better and they have a style of play now but they still have lots of work to do.
With Chelsea, Liverpool and even city falling off its kinda hard to gauge things for next season. Newcastle make a couple of shrewd moves this summer and top 4 alone is going to be crazy next year. If city return to their normal level next season it's going to be hard for anyone to win it losing more than a few games. Can I see this United team going through a season losing just a couple of games? Not yet.
Newcastle have lost 2 all season and lack fire power. With their resources and a clear idea of where they need to improve I see them being a big problem next season.

Newcastle have lost so few because they’ve drawn so many, and lack firepower but also because they have played such a defensive brand of football hence all the draws.
If they start to focus more on attacking, there’s nothing to say they will keep their impressive defensive stats. Those draws might turn into wins, but also losses imo if they open up a bit.
Also, claiming we may be where we are due to Chelsea and Liverpools failings is a little harsh, you need to actually look at the points picked up (since our first 2 losses of the season), we’re right up there with Arsenal over a very long period of the season now, and that’s while also managing 3 cup competitions with a mismatched squad of 4 previous managers making.
If ETH keeps it up and the guys above him do their jobs well, the more this squad starts to be shaped in his image the more these runs of impressive results will start to look like the norm for us imo.

It's a squad that's had vast sums spent on it, and United have a certain level of expectation. I'd say where United are now is the minimum.
I just think the progress and it's speed can make soke.go a bit overboard. United have conceded a lot of goals. Top scorer is Rashford and he hasn't hit crazy numbers. A player like Kane is a priority I feel for United to think about PL titles.
Chelsea and Liverpool won't be this bad next season so I do think it's a valid point. It isn't solely responsible obviously but I feel next season we will get a real marker of where United are at. Plenty of players for the manager to sell to generate funds too.
Arsenal have done great with no Europe. They've taken full advantage and spent heavily to back the boss. I just feel City and Liverpool have set the bar super high, and this year the league is more forgiving with losses. If city go back to that level again It's hard to look elsewhere. That's a huge jump for United required. Going 10 games unbeaten is dif to 20-30 games.
Maybe the league gets harder and teams just start losing more like the old days, who knows.
