We have an awfully difficult run in and I'm not sure where the points are going to come from to keep us up, Gracia has a big job on his hand with this squad.
If we do go down, will be a calamity after spending big on mediocre players, but if we stay up there still needs to be wholesale surgery on the club and that is on top of two relatively active windows in a row, which has been a novelty for us.
Apart from Forshaw, Robles and Mckennie, no one else is out of contract this summer.
the lengthy contracts come back to haunt us at times and we still have James, Cresswell, Roberts and Llorente to come back as well as Dallas from long term injury
Will Meslier who surely wants to get into French team, want to endure another year?
Are we going to persist with Firpo at left back?
Bamford still has years to go Costa still has 18 months....
Will clubs be willing to pay much for players we want to ship out?
We dont have the Philips and Raphinhas to sell to fund incomings and I struggle to think of any sales that will fund decent enough inbounds and I don't trust our set up to bring in quality.
How exactly does Rutter fit into this, is he meant to be Bamford replacement?
And then Gracia, he never stay long at a club, so should we be building a team to his specs?
Regardless of where we end up this season, this is a massive summer for us.
Massive job coming up this summer

I think we stay up comfortably when we do give the manager a decent contract and if we have to sell a player sell the keeper as clubs are sniffing round him and we will get decent money, but if the takeover goes through we wont need to sell anyone.
Good Centre forward and goalscoring midfielder with what we have and we are good to go.

Agree 100% Don.
Still wish we’d seen that run off between you and Alioski.

You are telling me you think this squad https://www.worldfootball.net/teams/leeds-united/2020/2/
is stronger than this one,
https://www.worldfootball.net/teams/leeds-united/2023/2/
You are deluded Jonty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So simple question for you:
2019 team
Meslier
Ayling White Cooper Alioski
Philips
Hernandez Klich Harrison Dallas
Bamford (promotion year)
Current team
Meslier
Kristinsen Ayling Koch Firpo
Adams Mckennie
Summerville Roca Gnonto
Bamford (today)
Which team wins?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The argument was which ‘squad’ is stronger. You’ve cherry picked a ‘team’ to try and win an argument.
The squad we have now is far superior to the squad we had in the Championship.
Had Bielsa been given this squad I’m sure we would be much higher up the table.

Absolutely.

No doubt.
Marsch has been the major issue this season.
Squad has been squandered under him.

cherry picked.
Its a championship team v a prem team with £80mill plus of additions and you're trying to find ways not to have to ay that the champ team was better.

There you go again - deliberately avoiding the obvious!
The argument was which squad was better and you cherry pick your best 11.
So print the whole squad from that season and let’s compare the two.

I do miss these 2019 players, a lot. They were
a huge part of our success. In my mind:
Kalvin
Pabs
Alioski
Berra
My favorite four players from that team.

I would choose that par motion squad over this squad any day.
And out of that squad I picked a starting 11 and current starting 11 which serve to highlight how much better we were.
You just seem to hate to admit it.
