One thing that has surprised me is

Irrespective of today's result, is, that à good few Liverpool supporters, who I rate, have opined that United are basically the same as under Ole.
Now I know you probably don't see all the games, we may finish lower than we did under Ole.
But, honestly, we are a far superior team now, we have a shape, determination, better tactics than before.
It's still early to be 100% sure, but nearly all United fans are confident we are improving rapidly.

One of our flaws that is similar to us under Ole is ball retention.

I’m a bit of a stats nerd but I was looking at the list of the top 50 players with the most accurate passes per game this season.

The list is naturally made up entirely of defenders and deep lying midfielders and unsurprisingly is dominated by City and Arsenal.

What is surprising is that while we are not that far behind them in the league, we have only 3 players on that list and they are quite a way down.

Martinez and Shaw are 29th and 30th respectively and Eriksen our only midfielder on that list at 47th.

What ETH has to improve next is ball retention imo. We are still poor whenever we are pressured in possession.

I'm not sure I want Cities style of play, results yes, but in a different way. We beat them and Arsenal at home, I dare say their stats were better, but we got the points
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but that’s not sustainable long term. We got the rub of the green on both of those days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it's been sustainable enough to win a cup, keep us in two others, and comfortably in top 4.

We’ve rode our luck at times.

Which cup win aside so did Ole. Ole never really got the rub of the green in the domestic cup draws that we have this season either.

I’m fully behind ETH and he’s done a very good job especially results wise but we aren’t hugely different to 2 seasons ago imo.

Ronaldo and Maguire his best decisions. Albeit no brainers.

Rashfords form and Casemiro signing the difference

Martinez and Varane also.

Maguire and Ronaldo were definitely the biggest problems last season.

Dropping them wasn’t genius but still brave from ETH.

They bought nothing new to the table that ole or maureen has not in the past.

The time wasting, the long balls, the low block.
