He maybe our most technical player but don't mean he is suited to us. I am in the didi hamann camp for this one. For me, he is only worth playing if the team is firing on all cylinders. I recall the season where we lost 6 at home on the trot he was awful, people where theb saying oh needs a fab next to him etc. Same this season, chips are down, he hasn't been able to deliver. I think we have won 5/6 since he been injured.

Oh BTW is another point. Constantly injured.

Who starts when all are fit? Diaz and salad I'm guessing with Nunez. Nunez seems to excel on the left though and Gakpo looks good at no10 🤔
Throw in Jota getting more game time and looking sharper slowly and he has some serious options up top.
Starting to find their roles.

Last season Liverpool had a 93% win ratio with Thiago and 56% without.

This has been a poor season for many reasons but injuries clearing up and our new attack beginning to click seeing an improvement in results is nothing to do with Thiago being out of the team. In fact Thiago was one of a few who was still playing well most games even when most others were not.

It is astounding that people think Thiago being out has resulted in the upturn in form.

Thiago has been one of Liverpool best mfs this season. Isn't super mobile but he puts a foot in and can spray the ball around.
I also get the argument that if I'm those around him aren't making runs and putting in a shift it kinda negates a part of his game. I don't think he is to blame for Liverpool poor mf though.

Thiago has been under par this season. He gets a pass because the other midfielders were also poor then but I would have expected him to step up but instead his passing has been poor and at times put us in trouble.

He is not quick or mobile so if his passing is off then we are struggling. Offensively he has not done much either.

He was good last season but not done much of note this season.

I'd say Thiago has been one of the better MF''s without question, this year. He always gets stuck in and tries to be offensive. He def performs better when the team is as his lack of mobility can make him a luxury at times.
Guys a total baller though and offers something others dont. When new players are learning new roles though it's natural the shape and passing will be out of sync a bit. Guy has class and has done it all so I'd def keep him in the summer 100%. Bellingham and Thiago defensive minded mfs + another mf, with Nunez, Gakpo and Salah....that sounds unreal to me.
