FWIW, I cannot imagine it's likely that any fan has formed their opinion on our terrible run based on what Tanner tweets or writes. His coverage of Leicester is largely watered down PR bursts for the club anyway, and he has gone out of his way to defend the club this season. I would imagine most fans form their opinions on little things, like what they see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears.
You can look at this outburst from Maddison in one two ways - either it is an effort to try and develop a siege mentality to create a 'everyone hates us' culture within the club that can propel us to safety, or it's a sign that Rodgers' mentality has rubbed off on the players, who are now experiencing the same delusions and cognitive dissonance that is leading to us sleepwalking towards the Championship. I fear it is the latter.
Also worth putting in the context that Maddison will almost certainly not be here next season, so he doesn't need to keep the local press on side and he's not fussed about upsetting the fans with his whining about criticism.
Pretty concerning all around though - if you're getting triggered by a Rob Tanner article, you're not a mentality monster; you're a mentality teddy bear.

I’m not sure which way to take this. The fact that Maddison has reacted suggests he’s got fight in him which if I’m honest is good to see.
It suggests the players are still fighting for the cause and haven’t downed tools.
It suggests that they’re still playing for Rodgers!!!!!
But really it also sends out the worrying message that they think everything is ok. Results and performances clearly show it isn’t!

Unbelievable. At least he cares - but it’s a worrying defence of mediocrity. We’ve had 1 shot on target in 2 games. It’s a shame because this kind of outburst actually puts people like Tanner off from speaking the truth

If the players and manager thinks we’ll be fine with continued performances like that of Saturday then I think we’re facked.
