Garnacho

He’s out for 6 weeks with damage to the ligament that connects the fibula to the ankle. He’s gonna miss his first call up to the national team and we are gonna lose him for a month if you account the international break.

Facking nightmare. But could give Facundo a chance to prove himself.

Won't hold my breath re. Martial, but we've been a lot more cautious about bringing him back this time than previously in the season. He's actually been doing work on the pitch for a while - fingers crossed it makes some difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh I read that we aren't rushing him back and are taking a similar approach to what we did with Sancho.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be just like him to stay fit for the rest of the season, absolutely smash it, get a contract extension and then get injured on August 1st.

We should have signed two attackers instead of one Antony.

Not sure why people are suggesting Sancho will play left now, Weggy isn't going anywhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it is more when ETH pushes Rashford central and takes Weggy off. Without Garnacho to come off the bench, ETH will have to look elsewhere - which will likely mean Sancho. It will depend on whether Martial actually plays for us again though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's hope Martial can get fit then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Antony also popped up a bit on the left, so that could be an option.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought he looked quite dangerous from there as he was able to drive forward without checking back. I think he's pacier than what we've seen for the majority of the time as well. There have been one or two occasions when he's been quite rapid.

Yeah he's fairly quick with the ball at his feet. We just don't actually see it that often as he's constantly slowing himself down to try and check back.

Would also be curious to see him on the left

Yeh, from the clips I saw of him at Ajax, he is quick. He just hasn't shown it very often for United so far. I would like to see properly what he can do on the left.

That’s a big problem for Antony, especially with where he’s picking up the ball. He obviously lacks the raw speed to carry it long distances, and needs support from playings in and around him. It’s the same with Sancho. Garnacho and Pellistri look more threatening because they are direct and down slow it down, which suits our more direct style of football.

6 weeks! That's means probably 9 or 10 with our medical team!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't worry, they're going to get him right on the Phil Jones Plan to fast-track him back to match fitness.

We will finally be rid of Jones this summer. What a waste of money he has been.
