Bayern it is!

Couldn’t have got a tougher draw really but would definitely rather be playing the biggest of ties than having an easy route to the final!

I went to the 2-3 win at the Allianz years ago, some away trip that! Anyone thinking of making the trip this year?

Bayern have been my favourites to win it all the way through. I think we stand a better chance against them over two legs though.

Bayern then potentially Madrid then most likely Napoli. If you win it at least you can say you have earned it.

We have had Barca > Betis > Sevilla and then potentially Juve and then Roma if we progress in Ropey cup. That's harder than what some CL clubs have been up against.

Luck of the draw eh?

Why Roma?

Why would you not want a easy route to final?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ultimately, we’ll feck it up at some stage regardless of who we play! But I would rather see us do it having played in some big games along the way, than playing Europa League draws. Love it when we get Madrid.

City would have demolished the Italian clubs. You would have got to the final against Real or Bayern and then it's down to 90 mins.

Plus easy CL draw meant you can concentrate on the league games.

Several flaws in that argument.

First, you've plotted your *potential* path to the EL final against the *actual* path to the CL quarters.

Second, you've completely overlooked the fact that two of your potential opponents have already been bounced out of the CL - one of which is locked in a domestic relegation battle.

The third potential opponent you mention not only finished behind all three of Napoli, Inter and Milan last season, but is also currently placed behind all 3 this season too.

Simple fact is if an English team wins the Champions League or the Europa they will have deserved it not had an easy route.

They would be deserved regardless of the route.

The notion SE floated, however, about the EL offering a harder path than the CL, is Culeresque.
