Leeds Utd v Wolves Matchday Thread

Welcome to the Matchday Thread and an Away trip to the Midlands for the Travelling Faithful 🙄
Billed as another one of those "Must Win Games" the fact that only 4 points separate the teams means it's going to be a hard fought encounter.

Venue...Molineux Stadium...Date...18th March...Kick Off...1500hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams is ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Fit-again forward Rodrigo could start his first game for eight weeks, while Liam Cooper is also in contention but Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw remain sidelined.

Wolves
Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha are both fit for Wolves after overcoming respective heel and ankle issues.

Hwang Hee-chan is unavailable through injury, while this game comes too soon for Boubacar Traore.

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Leeds are vying to complete a first top-flight double over Wolves since the 1973-74 season.
There has not been a goalless draw between these sides since August 2004, while the last stalemate in the top flight was in March 1973.

Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves have won three of their past four Premier League home matches, one more victory than in their previous 12 attempts (W2, D3, L7).
They have kept a clean sheet in all five of their home league wins this season, and are winless in the last 10 top-flight games at Molineux in which they conceded (D2, L8).
February's 3-0 victory against Liverpool is the only time this season Wolves have scored more than twice in a match.
Wolves' last nine league goals have been scored by nine players, including own goals by Liverpool's Joel Matip and Southampton's Jan Bednarek.

Leeds United
The Whites are winless in their last seven away league matches (D2, L5), while their overall tally of six points on the road is a joint low with Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
Leeds have won each of their last three Premier League games when starting the day in the relegation zone, beating Brentford on the final day last season and Liverpool and Southampton this term.
Illan Meslier is one short of 100 Premier League appearances. The 23-year-old would surpass Scott Carson as the youngest goalkeeper to reach the milestone.
Patrick Bamford is vying to score in consecutive top-flight matches for the first time since May 2021.

Can we do the double, we hit the net with 2 cracking efforts last Saturday I'm hoping we can do it again this week
Wolves will want this as much as we do and will want to maintain their run of home wins but I think Gracia might just be starting to turn things around so I'm going for a 0-2 clean sheet and goals from Rodders and Gnonto 🙏🤞

Lubo i did too tbh. The biased commentary team i was watching thought otherwise. They were desperate for Wolves to win it.

Nice to see a Ref, not just default to a foul, when asked By VAR to look at.

Too many players, trying to ref the game. Slight tug, pulls up. No feck of ya soft cheating tw@t.

My feed was from Nigeria, not sure who was the co-commentator but he clearly wanted a Wolves win. Very poor.

Great result, but thought our defending was abysmal. Arsenal will tear us apart.

To be honest I think the ref got all the major decisions right. Red card obvious - Could have broke Aylings leg.

As for that VAR… well done to the ref for not being encouraged to overrule the 4th goal….Traore is built like a schitbrickhouse .. his shirt was being held by fingernails….if Traore had played for Leeds we’d have given him big time grief for not getting on with it. He’s had a shocker there

I shed tears of relief at the end of that game! It is soooo stressful being a Leeds fan.

David Phillips, apparently he played against us for Coventry in the 87 Cup semi. I can't remember him.
