Maybe bad news for the rivals

...Ok, so losing a manager in mid season is usually a bad thing to happen to clubs, specially as Spurs are chasing a top 4 spot and are hanging in there for dear life, with a few clubs breathing down the neck...

But Conte leaving maybe after such a rant may not be that bad for the chances for top 4 for Spurs.

The criticism aimed at the players, with allegations of "lazy" and "selfish" and "playing for themselves" might actually get a good reaction from some of these players.

Players do need a rocket up their behinds sometimes, and maybe they will respond to the criticism to show Conte, that they are anything but what he accused them of?

We might see an invigorated side that is responding well to Stellini and Mason, who are "softer" if you compared them to Conte's ferocious demands even on touch lines.

It maybe that suddenly Spurs have got that rocket booster that will take them over the line?

Sometimes, comes from adversity, the togetherness and the desire to prove a few wrong, and more importantly the momentum much needed.

You would think....but I can see these bottle jobs using it as the easy out.

yes, but they will feel the fans will be gauging whether Antonio's rant is true....and would try to negate it by rolling up their sleeves...Though I am not sure if they know what that means!

Can only live in hope like someone said.

This criticism of the 2k run is absurd - that is a ridiculously easy amount of running, we’re talking 10 mins of running before a match.

For a professional athlete looking at long term gains I see no issue with this, it’s just a warm up, I don’t understand why the players are bitching about it

Prime primadonnas...Little jogging will harm their little souls!

Since the days of early Poch, I have not seen these players run the length of the pitch bar in odd games, and usually it is Sonny who does it.

The rest love to keep away from breaking sweat and love to point to teammates - like pass it to him, not to me.

Good opportunity for Stellini and Mason, to step out from behind the rigidity of Conte's system really have nothing to lose

Do we want top four? What’s the point? We won’t take it seriously next year. Maybe missing out, like arsenal did, will mean we actually rip up the carpets and fixing this squad.

It’s not like qualifying for champions league means we sign better players. Arsenal signed better players without top four.

Seeing the customers get behind the team, creating the best atmosphere that stadium has ever seen, to get them over the line by beating arsenal 3-0, only to be rewarded by the disgrace that was the 0-0 v ac Milan.

What was the point?

Has anyone else seen the dissection of ENIC and Levy printed in the Times yesterday?

It’s unbelievably good journalism, however if you are an ENIC customer (which the Times essentially say we are) then it is as harrowing as a football article can be.

Essentially confirms we have zero appetite to win trophies and instead are an “event destination” - This is the Times saying this, not Paddy Power taking the pizz.

Confirms our whole back room set up is wrong if we want to attain success on the pitch but is great for attaining financial prizes.

It is a terrifying article, this is just one quote:

“Where we do stray into hubris is whether Spurs needed to go quite that far. They’ve got their own micro-brewery and fast-filling pints. Spurs are ceasing to be a football club and becoming an event destination. Once you’ve created that kind of asset you’ve got to do something with it.”

Another:

“Joe Lewis didn’t get rich by being nice or paternalistic and is not actively engaged with the club. Levy shapes the strategy. If Lewis wasn’t happy with what Levy is doing, he’d have fired him by now. Lewis is never questioned and at the same time he never questions Levy. Levy has not lost his job, Mauricio Pochettino has, José Mourinho has, Conte has.

Joe Lewis probably stinks of pisss and is old and senial once he’s dead and ENIC are long gone the better we will be as a club.

Tbh, the problem with the Levy/Lewis management is not in the Business side of the Tottenham Hotspur venture , and not even in the entertainment/hospitality sectors.
The problem is on the pitch.
Basic understanding of how a football club should be run is at the core of the issues at the club imo.

Levy is a good business man but he is not a football man by any stretch of that word. Simply because he has curtailed any football clubs most important target which is to win trophies.

Once, under Poch when the team had one of the main stays and important midfield player in Dembele left. Instead of ensuring Poch had every resources available for him, and if not get them, Levy poured the money into the stadium, leaving Poch short in quality players in the midfield.

The same thing happened when Jose was about to take the team to a cup final. There was a chance to lift a trophy, but he was sacked and this caused an upheaval which was the last thing the club needed. Levy pulled the trigger because he did not want to pay the bonuses Jose would have earned. Remember even though we were facing City, we had already beaten prior.

This is why the two "L" at the top, Levy and Lewis must not be allowed to interfere with footballing matters. Shame Paratici is as dodgy as they come.

We need a good Football Director at the club with the ambitions and directions lined up with fans

Most of us agree that Levy is a horrendous chairman for the football club, but a financial genius away from the pitch.

ENIC`s priorities are not aligned with that of top managers and top players, and the only surprise is that there are still fans out there who can not see through their charade and think ENIC can do no wrong.

I actually feel sorry for those people, because they are clearly not well.
