Will be pleased to put all the talk behind us and get back to playing footy this evening.
That Southampton game and Conte rant seems like a long time ago.
I am very interested to see how we approach this game. At the risk of sounding rather Conte-esque, I think it is a game that we need to be patient in.
Everton would probably take a draw, they certainly cannot contemplate a loss, as they have United away next so really need something from this game.
While this approach has often been a recipe for disaster, i think the key difference I want to see is greater possession. Be patient and solid by controlling the game. Conte's control was basically to surrender the ball and defend from about 35 yards out. We cannot do this vs Burnley, i mean Everton, as they will simply launch an aerial bombardment.
We have shown we have the quality to score goals, we are the 3rd highest scorers behind Arsenal and City. We create chances but the defence is so often the problem that we need to simply control the ball more, give Everton fewer chances.
I sense from his previous caretaker roll, and from his actions when Conte subbed Deki for Sanchez vs Milan, that Mason is far more front foot as a coach and that he has probably been as frustrated as us at how the has been set up and primed for games
Stellini has made some decent sound comments in the press:
“The more you try to punch us, the more we are tight, we stick together and the more we react. This has to be clear for you guys and for all the people who try to punch us. Because with the speculation, you create only energy for us. This has to be clear for everyone."
This is why I said you try to punch us and we react together and to be strong. This is what we do if you continue to speak about this.
“Harry Kane is our top scorer and he wants to play the best matches in his life, this is what I feel. If you try to speculate on this, we want to play the next match at the best. This is my job. It’s not my job to speak about other things."
He has certainly built it up and while Conte's rant may have challenged the players, Stellini's approach is doing the same albeit in a more subtle way, not directly questioning their integrity
I am an optimist. I am looking forward to getting back to the on-pitch stuff and hopeful that we will see a reaction for our players and a tweak to our approach which is far less passive and more in ya face, yet controlled. It will need to be against a Dyche led team
Game day!

his actions when Conte subbed Deki for Sanchez vs Milan
_____________
That clip could just as easily have been Mason saying to Kane "what else are we supposed to do"
Far from certain that Mason was disagreeing with Conte
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True, but his initial gestures are even in response to Kane who is having a drink, and his final gestures are turning to Stellini and looks like he's point at the bench.
Ive always had the impression that Mason wasn't allowed to speak to Conte, kinda like a work experience kid talking to the big boss

We must be the hardest fans on the planet to keep happy. We scrutinise every minute detail, and pull our manager on it!
Why did you change your hairstyle at HT? Why did you look glum for 1 sec during the second half?
We could go 3rd and still be the most miserable fans on the planet
Don't get why though....We have the best facilities on the world, we have Kane, Son, Romero, etc...
We are managerless but we know who's to blame?
COYS onwards and upwards
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You blame Levy ,but Conte was the one sending out the team every week with 5 defensive minded players at the back playing the most boring football on the planet, play some attractive football that's all we need to do

yeah but who recruited Conte?
If you know Conte is part of JM school of pragmatic football, why recruit him?
There are other manager more suitable and we went and paid £15m a year to one of the most defensuve managers and then we moan?
Levy is where the buck stops at.

Is Hugo fit ? I heard he played a couple reserve games during the Intl break ?
If he is, he'll be straight back in regardless of how well Forster has played
