Hell of a knock by Dawson who's been class all season.
Surely must be the second spinner in India given his batting.

Yeah it was very assured. Vince got things going by going after the bowlers and then Dawson just accelerated and played some lovely shots against a high class attack in Porter, Cook, Harmer and Umesh Yadav.
I think if Leach is fit though then it's unlikely we will go for a second slow left arm spinner. Ahmed, Livingstone and Jacks are probably all ahead of him in the pecking order. It's weird though as Dawson has always been seen as more of a limited overs specialist. However because he doesn't look to belt everything to or over the boundary, doesn't fit the mould of Stokes' England.

God Surrey have been painful this summer...

Weird season but can't argue with retaining the title.
Unlucky Essex, kept it interesting to the end. Hopefully that's not the end for Chef

Essex sadly lost it in the last round but fair play to Northants, they've taken it to the two best teams in the division and are going to come away with a draw and a win. Shame they've been rubbish all season prior.
Essex other than Westley and Critchley have been mediocre to below par with the bat all season and Harmer hasn't been anywhere near his best, nor Sam Cook. Nice to see Porter back somewhere near his best though.
Now all on relegation and Kent look like they've gotten themselves into a superior position to stay up.

I don't know how given Pope has done a decent job but we really do need to find a way to get Bohannon in the England squad.
Scored a 100 in the 1st innings and is 60* in the 2nd. Is also now the leading run scorer for the season with his overall FC average now a very impressive 47.
