All I've seen since the final whistle is that we've ceded control of the title race to City and for us, that's basically it now. Never have I read such a load of cack. If the shoe was on the other foot they wouldn't even be dreaming of saying it - they're doing it because we're top, not the favourites.
Firstly, we're still six points clear at the top. It's on the table. You can just see it! Secondly, yesterday's draw was at Anfield - historically a horrible ground to play at. It's hardly like we lost at St Mary's or the Walkers Stadium (with all due respect), or indeed at all. Thirdly, if the preceding games are anything to go on, City are not guaranteed three points every single time they play. Fourthly, fixture congestion could yet be a factor because City have an absolute minimum of eleven games to play before the end of May, which will increase if they succeed in the CL and the cup - we only have eight, at the very most. And finally, City have to win both their game in hand and their game against us to go top, assuming they've at least matched our results in the meantime. Then they have to hold out for another month. Remember that we lost the top spot to them before and then got it back. We could just as easily do it again.
I'm not saying we're nailed on for the title - far from it. I'm actually bricking it. But there is a long, long way to go yet for both teams, and until City are top, we've got the advantage. The press can just shut their mouths and watch the results come in.
So much negativity in the press

People also act as if Man City always win there last 10 games of the season. They only did this once in 2018/2019 where they won their last 14 league games. That was a freak run which won't happen again. Even last season they dropped 6 points in there last 10 games. If they do that this time round then it's a massive opportunity for us. We need to avoid defeat at the Etihad and get something at Newcastle. If we achieve this and win the rest of the games then we're champions. It won't be easy by any means we just have to take it game by game. Obviously if we fail to beat West Ham and Southampton which are our next 2 games then we're in trouble.

The press have got this story ready every time we drop points because us bottling it or not having the mentality will sell. Anfield is a tough place to go and it still feels more like 1 point gained rather than 2 points dropped as City lost there earlier in the season.

Obvious City have a game in hand and Arsenal have to go to the Etihad so in some way it is City who are in control.
But both teams have their destiny in their own hands. City have to beat Arsenal at Etihad and then match Arsenals other results and they'll be champions.

The game at the Etihad is what really complicates it for Arsenal, but City are still in the FA cup and CL, so will be interesting to see how it goes.

Honestly I dont fear City and going to the Ethiad allthough stats say otherwise. The away game at Newcastle worries me more.

A bit out of context this quote as he also said that we could have lost it in the end which is right and that the draw is maybe the right result for a scintillating game of football.

Forgot about that one but if you get a result at Etihad then you win the league IMO.

Although I agree with the sentiment in the OP, and by no means at all is it over, I do feel like City have the upper hand now for several reasons.
Firstly, they have a manager and group of players who know what it takes to win leagues. We've not proven it yet, and until we can get that first one (in almost 20 years) over the line, people will understandably continue to doubt us.
Secondly, our fixtures are objectively harder than theirs on paper. City (A), Newcastle (A), Brighton (H) and potentially Chelsea (H) in particular are difficult matches for us in our remaining 8. We also can't rule out dropped points against teams battling relegation, who are also fighting for their futures - two of whom we play in our next two games, and another two of whom we play in our penultimate and final games of the campaign.
Thirdly, City's performances and results seem to have gone up a notch since February, so they appear to have clicked into gear at the right time. We've seen them go on 14/15 game winning streaks before and they are looking imperious right now.
I realise they have more fixtures than us, due to the Champions League and FA Cup semi-final, but they also have the squad and nous to deal with those extra few games.
We will need them to falter at least 2 more times between now and the end of the season. Which I'm not sure I can envisage if I'm honest.
