Geezer really needs to be sold. How he has managed to last six seasons at the club is criminal, should be at Palace or Wolves. That defending for the second goal was pathetically bad. Turning his back like that and then prodding the ball into the path of Solanke. Kane must be pulling his hair out playing with players like this.
What I would say however, is that the booing from our fans whenever he was on the ball today was disgraceful. Support the players on the pitch.
Thoughts?

Sanchez has sacrificed more, tried harder and given more to spurs than all of us have done in our lifetime combined.
He isn’t a player with a bad attitude or who speaks bad about the club, he is a great professional who has tried his hardest for the club.
What he also is, is a good defender at covering a high line and defending space - but poor on the ball and when asked to defend deeper. Even peak Baresi would look rusty having played roughly less than 90 mins in the league since the WC break.
Everything that went wrong with him today was completely the fault of the management, tactics and rotation.
The fans to boo/cheer a player like this is disgraceful - he isn’t the causation of all our problems, so he shouldn’t be the funnel of ‘fans’ hatred.

I agree Sanchez does try hard. But he has always, and I mean ALWAYS, been unreliable. He does and will make mistakes under pressure.
And I agree with those who ask why he's been at the club this long.
He should have been gone long ago.
Booing will only make him a worse player. Not constructive behavior.

Sanchez is a car crash of a footballer, but the booing is completely out of order, it`s not his fault he should have been sold 3 years ago and is still part of our squad. Anybody who pulls on the shirt deserves support, no matter how bad they are.
The only Spurs people that should be on the wrong end of booing are Levy & Lewis.

Sanchez was criminally bad today though, the whole game changed when he came on, what Stellini was thinking bringing him on god only knows.

I thought the treatment of Sanchez today was disgusting. He’s not good enough but he doesn’t pick himself.
His professionalism and effort has never been in question, so he doesn’t deserve to be booed.
Those that did need to have a look at themselves.

To be fair the first goal was due to Porro losing the ball.
Sanchez was slow on the run back once that happened.

Watching the highlights, Romero, Pedro Porro and Hojberg were equally as awful. Romero looks like someone who doesn't really want to play, he was having an afternoon stroll. Get the impression people rate him cos every now and then he launches into a stupid tackle with makes it look like he has 'passion'.

Romero will be off in the summer. Believes, quite rightly, that he is too good for the club.
Can see a Fulham or a Brighton coming in for him.

Weird article OP, cos you’re singling out one of our players for public criticism, then saying people shouldn’t have done that at the game. The only difference between the crowd booing him and you saying how bad he is here is that one was in front of the player and this is somewhere he won’t see it!
For the record, I don’t think he is as bad as people make out. None of our players look like they have any idea what they’re doing. The team is a total car crash with errors all over the pitch. Everyone looks like they just want the season to end, wish it would!

I don’t see how I have contradicted myself. Players get criticised on here all the time. You state:
‘ The only difference between the crowd booing him and you saying how bad he is here is that one was in front of the player and this is somewhere he won’t see it!’
I think that’s a pretty significant distinction!
I was at the game yesterday and was frustrated by Sanchez’s play, but I am like that for any of our players if they frustrate me. I’ve moaned about Son a lot this season. However I’d never boo any of our players when they have the ball or cheer ironically when they are substituted. It was an awful decision from Stellini to bring on Sanchez yesterday so the blame lies with him.
Agree that other than Kane (and Bentancur) the whole team has been poor. And yes I cannot wait for this season to end.
