Kane Vs Osimhen

I just don't see how Kane makes any sense

Kane 29 (30 in July) - price £65m+ / no-resale value

Osimhen 24 (25 in December) - price £120m / re-sale value of £50+ even in 5 years time

I just don't understand why we would even consider Kane? He's proven, but it just makes no sense long term.
In just over 2 years Kane will be 32, and Osimhen won't have even hit his peak yet.

Anyone else think the Kane links make no sense at all?

Spurs fan here. Just curious. What is it that makes you think Kane fits an ETH system?

It seems to me that the reason ETH brought in Weghorst was because he pressed high from the front which then allows your midfield and defence to squeeze up higher. I'm not sure who you think Kane is but he is not that player anymore. There was a time under Poch in his early 20s when he chased everything but he's nothing like that these days. he needs legs around him. That's why he compliments Son so well and why he tends to excel for England with the likes of Saka and Sterling beside him.

It sounds biased but I honestly think it would be the wrong move for United. Not in the short term. He'll score a ton of goals but where is the future planning here? Your best players, aside from Rashford are Casemiro, 31, Eriksen, 31 and De Gea 32. I'm just not sure it's financially or physically wise to add another old head to the roster. You'd be building to compete with City but by the time you get close, you'll have to replace all these players again.

Ferguson rarely did that. If he signed a player over 30 generally it would be cover on the bench, like Sheringham, or maybe Owen, who might have been a little younger than 30 at the time but physically he was past it. He rarely built a team around aged players.

Also, there's not a chance we sell for 65m. That's laughable. Levy won't even entertain discussions until you get past the 100m mark and I honestly don't think you'll bite. My guess is that he'll see out his contract and you'll be forced to look elsewhere. Then Kane will be 31-32 and will, in all likelihood find suitors harder to come by. I think he might end up sticking around after all this.

This is pretty much exactly my thinking when you mention the price & age of Casemiro, Erickson etc. We're not close enough to city, to try sign a short-ish term player like Kane for a fortune.

Buy a good, younger Striker and solve the problem for 7+ years

Who do you have in mind? No guarantee we get Osimhen..

I think there's only really us that can get him in honesty.

Bayern I very much doubt will spend that kind of money, Real are waiting on Mbappe. Chelsea are out of Europe.

Maybe PSG if Messi goes?

Barca, Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Juventus all don't need him or can't afford him.

Though to answer your question I wouldn't really know who would be another striker that fits that profile, but I know they'll be others out there.
Look at Alvarez at city for example

Who knows how well Osimhen will play in the PL.

Remember Lukaku absolutely tore the league up before he moved to Chelsea and everyone knows what a donkey he is.

Kane imo just makes sense, he's never really relied on pace and is a guaranteed 20+ PL goals a season player. If u get 2-3 season out of him that would be good.

Who cares about resale, aren't you guys Manchester United. What's 50Mil when u paying tripe like Sancho and DeGea 350k + per week.

Toney would've made the most sense if there wasn't a potential ban hanging over him.

The Qatari’s will bribe the government to pressure the FA not to ban him.

Will be interesting to see what and when it happens with Toney. Southgate must be in the know in some regard and played it down when he called him up for England.

No point being owned by a nation state if you can't bribe governing bodies to turn a blind eye to your rule breaking

Do we even have any idea when the FA are going to come to a decision?

Haven’t seen anything on it.

Real, PSG, Chelsea could all be in for him as well as us.

Personally Kane is a no brained given we need an immediate impact.

He’ll get a short ban and huge fine, then we’ll sign him, then the punishment will get reviewed or overturned after the window closes and he’ll get banned for 2 years leaving us with Martial and Weghorst for another season.
