Bolton Wanderers v Accrington Stanley

3 to go. First up a local derby and Accrington at home. The stakes are massive. Bolton need 2 wins or 1 win and 2 draws to secure a play off spot. Accrington need 3 points as 3 points behind Oxford who also play tonight who are 5th from bottom and 5 points from mk Dons the only 2 sides they can overtake. Losing or drawing tonight won't mathematically relegate them but will make the task next to impossible. They do have games against fellow relegation strugglers Cambridge and Oxford on the last day of the season so tonight is so important for Accrington as well. Bolton have won the last 3 fixtures between the clubs including 2 wins this season. Team news. No new injuries reported. Good news Toal is back in full training and could be on the bench. Santos not back just yet and Bodvarsson could be involved if Bolton make the play offs. With the pressure on will evatt overthink and tinker tonight? Keep it unchanged for me. Kick off 7.45.

I need Benny to do some stats on Charles.
Going off Wiki it doesn't like he's scored 20 in the league.
Can we have a full breakdown of actual league goals, minus the pens. Alongside the expected goals from the chances, he's fluffed.

To top it off can we show where the team have dropped points from winning positions. I seem to recall we've said a few times about dropped points and regretting it come the end of the season.

If the BEN take the hint, they'll have all those stats ready for an end of season review. Show us where we finished and a "look where we could have been".

Can we put on a big winning show tomorrow? Anything less than a win will leave us having nightmares going into the Bristol away game.

A task to look at re winning positions. Charles has scored 17 I think.

Had a look at the stats. Bolton have lost 12 points from winning positions. Draws at Ipswich, Burton home to Cambridge, lost at Shrewsbury and Portsmouth. From losing positions Bolton have gained 18 points. Wins at home to Charlton, Burton, Port vale, away at Accrington and Fleetwood. An home draw against Bristol rovers and draws against Lincoln and Sheffield Wednesday.

Dion Charles I have him on 16 league goals including 5 penalties. 1 in the league cup and 3 in the EFL Trophy. That's 20 goals.

Charles missed 1 penalty so that's 5 out of 6. Must have got the woodwork several times and missed one on ones with the keeper umpteen times.

Thanks Benny
All very interesting and plenty of food for thought.

Should we look at IE next? Is there some correlation between a winning side and tinkering in the following game.

When you look at our situation we have done quite well. The unfortunate thing is it builds expectations and at a crucial time like the last few games of the season when we fluff it, it hurts.

That's the negative.

The positives are, we have two games left to retain our playoff place. My middle grandson is going to the game with me and my other two grandsons, and the games that my middle grandson has attended this season, we have won them all.

A nervous start to the day when you know its match day.
What are we going to be like when the team is announced?.

It doesn't matter. I'm taking our lucky mascot to the game.

Enough said.
