Levy Taking Full Responsibility

WTF does that actually mean in this modern era?

Without getting political, Boris said that a lot during the Partygate scandal, but remained in his position (until finally being ousted for another reason). Now Levy has adopted the same bland meaningless platitude.

Taking full responsibility used to entail the individual accepting the errors of their ways (or their Club/staff/Government) and falling on their sword.

Nowadays there’s no repercussions, it’s just words.

Yeah I think we could win every game for the remainder of the season and the fans views will be set on Levy and the running of this club
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Quite rightly as well, enough is enough and most of us are completely fed up with his poor handling of the football side of the club.

Great businessman, terrible football chairman. He has no love or understanding of the game and views it completely in financial terms. The fans are fed up at being treated like customers.

So the players playing badly is all down to Levy.

Levy is not perfect, but to blame him for all the poor results is a total nonsense.

Players are more culpable than anything Levy had done, the sooner most of them leave, the better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Levy’s being failing for years Sandy - difficult to blame Pedro Porro for us sacking Jose Mourinho 6 days before a cup final.

Was it Davinson Sanchez who sacked Martin Jol at half time in a game we won 5-0?

Obviously Timothy Atouba is to blame for us hiring Nuno - that one goes without saying

Don’t forget it was Kyle Walker Peters that sacked Harry Redknapp, Peter Crouch fired Poch and Ian Walker got rid of AVB

Well unless he’s resigning, it doesn’t mean anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wont resign until someone in a higher position than him holds him accountable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
his day will come when Joe Lewis snuffs it because Joe Lewis won’t be leaving his shares to Levy, at which point his daughter Vivienne will inherit and apparently can’t stand Danny boy.

If she flogs the shares then Danny can’t afford them by himself - that’s probably why he keeps trying to sound out new investors - trying to find someone who is pro Levy but has realised that Sandy doesn’t have the funds

It's Levy who has been sounding out investors. I think Lewis wants to sell up his shares but all the talk has been a sale but with Levy staying on. That's the condition supposedly.

You know he has a few roles within football such as prem's rep on the European Club Association as well as UEFA’s Professional Football Strategy Council.

I really don't him going anywhere for another 10 years. For real.

Obviously Lewis will want to maximise his return. I don't think he has invested much more than £250m in total. That's including Sugar's shares and the recent investment of £150m.

He has also loaned the club money for the training ground and part of the new stadium in the past at a low rate but he will make a little raise on those repayments.

His asking price for Spurs is £4.5b too which will put off alot of investors.

Yeah Sugar sold his shares in two tranches for a total of £47m - that was for 39% of the club. Surely you would consider £3bn - faaacking A holes.

Of course Levy wants to stay on - that’s why we can’t find further investment. Imagine putting a billion plus into the club only to have that bald little faaack wit still Levying things up

Well said mate. With all this levy hate, time and again people on here think that is the problem. Get ride of Levy and all will be well with the world.
Yet most of these people don't for a second consider who actually conceded 4 goals in 21 minutes at Newcastle. I was not Levy that's for sure.
Time and again our players let us down on the pitch ( you know, where games are won and lost ) yet Kane is treated as a god, although never turns up in big games, and with the exception of Sanchez and Dier, virtually every other first team player is ignored as the problem.
I appreciate the club can't just go out and get a new team, and yes coaching what we have is also a big issue, but players win ( or lose ) games, simple as.

You're not wrong to direct criticism at the players. They definitely should share the blame for Sunday's debacle.

However, the root cause (which has been repeated on this forum time and time again) is that Levy has made repeated disastrous decisions both in terms of managerial appointments/sackings and player recruitment.

For that he should (as he said he does) take responsibility. But if there are no repercussions and he does not step down, his "I have ultimate responsibility" words are meaningless.
