Spurs last night, and fully deserving of a draw to stop the run of losses. What I couldn`t understand last night though, was after Spurs equalised at 2-2 they had all the momentum to go on and win the game, and Mason then takes off Son and brings on Tanganga, and Spurs then reverted to type, just dropped back into their own half and allowed United to have the ball, they didn`t concede, but it was so negative. Why not just go for the win? Haven`t they learnt nothing that Spurs defence is total cack, and to try to see out games is just about the worse tactic they can employ.
Of course as usual yesterday it was the defence that let the side down again. Nothing can be done with it until the season ends, but it is so, so obvious that decent central defenders that can actually defend are needed as a priority. The current midfield is not great, but at least Bentancur and Bissouma will come back to strengthen that area of the pitch. But at the back absolutely no decent CB defender to come in, so it will be Dier/Davies until the end of the season. No way are they keeping the Liverpool attack quiet at the weekend, so the forwards better have their shooting boots on.
I thought after the Bournemouth game Spurs would miss out on European football next season, but with Villa and Brighton not having an easy fixture list to end the season, Spurs may sneak into 6th/7th if they can beat both Palace and Brentford at home and sneak something at Leeds and Villa. Problem is the away form has fallen off the cliff. It`s going to be touch and go.
Anyway overall a much better all round display of attacking football, just need to see more of it.
And Daniel Levy, fair play to him for turning up, after so many said he would not front up. Nobody should cower to the bully boys.
