Aston Villa are bang in form under Emery. Hadn’t lost in 10 games and had scored a goal in every one of Emery’s 20 games in charge. For our makeshift defence to keep a clean sheet is fantastic, Shaw fills in very well at CB. A better option than Maguire which is pretty damning.
De Gea kept another clean sheet and now leads the golden glove race by 2 ahead of Nick Pope. I believe he can come out on top.
Yesterday saw us try to beat Villas high line with early balls time and time again. I thought we could have been a lot more precise with many of these, given the ability of Eriksen and Bruno to carry out those passes.
But all in all a comfortable win against a very good team.
Looking forward and being very, very cautious, these results will be enough to meet our goal of CL football and will be a very good first season for ETH.
Brighton away - L
West Ham away - D
Wolves home - W
Bournemouth away - W
Chelsea home - D
Fulham home - W
These results would get us top 4, even with Liverpool winning all of their games. Obviously we don’t want to go into the last game of the season needing a draw at least. But I don’t believe Liverpool will win every game.
Any result against Brighton will be a bonus, as I think they will be out for revenge and confidence will be sky high after their 6-0 thrashing of Wolves. I’m not including them in the top 4 race as they still have to play Newcastle, Arsenal, City, Villa.
Important win against a good team.

Yeah Brighton’s fixtures are crazy. Away to Arsenal, Villa, Newcastle, home to Man Utd, Man City.

Think there's a conciliatory game against Southampton thrown in as well.

Our home form has been very strong this season, it's felt a while since it's been that good. I understand that fans are cautious, and of course there have been blips, especially on the road, but generally the teams you would expect us to do well against we have done so. Let's say it how it is - we are in a great position to secure CL football, and there is no excuse for not doing so. Everything is in our own hands, regardless of who we have to play, and it would take something seriously amazing for us not to make it.
It's like those questioning some of ETH's subs. he can't get it right every time, but we are high up in the stats for subs who have scored goals, so he must be doing something right. We need to maintain this progress next season of course, but let's try and be more positive

The points total is healthy but football isn’t played in a spreadsheet, and Liverpool have excellent momentum.
I hope we can put in a quality performance at Brighton.

Well in the league table the points total is the main thing!!
Of course we go for 3 points against Brighton, but whatever the result, it doesn't have to be a disaster. This team have shown the ability to recover from a bad loss (should that happen), but no reason not to feel confident.
Liverpool have picked up 1 more point than us in the last 6 games, so we are in a similar vein of form to them

Of course, and my comment wasn’t aimed at you.
Just saying that we need to try and keep things ticking over because things can turn quickly at this stage of the season with a bit of momentum.

Brighton are main threat to the current top 4.

I agree with you, but if we can't seal top 4 from here, we don't deserve to. Of course this is dependent on Liverpool winning all their games, which isn't a cert, and that would mean us needing 3 wins minimum from 6 games, which is a strong position to be in

I agree with Winston is who I was referring to

As long as Maguire isn't on the pitch to injure our own players or create panic in our own box, then we should be okay for top four. With only 6 games to go we need to win 3 regardless to what other teams around us do.
