of Spurs in bundles, defending like a pub side, yet on the front foot, as dangerous as any side in the Prem. The stats bare that out, only twice this century has a Spurs conceeded more 2002-3 62 goals, 2007-9 61 goals. Currently the total is 57 and expect that to rise over the next four games, even though the opposition is a tad easier on paper.
Is it any wonder though with the Chuckle Brothers, Dier and Romero at the back. I cannot think of a worse pairing for perhaps 30 years. Both totally inept, and both need moving on, or maybe at worse keep Romero, but only as a squad player, because at the moment he is stealing a living as a defender. Dier we know is not up to it.
As for going forward Spurs have scored 63 the 3rd best in the division, and have even outscored all singing, all dancing Newcastle, so the problem is pretty clear. Always capable of scoring, but totally hopeless at defending.
Yesterday, first 15 minutes apart, I thought Spurs played as well as they have ever done at Anfield, indeeed I cannot ever remember them every scoring three goals on that ground, certainly not in my lifetime, someone can correct me on that, but they still managed to find a way to lose. There is always someone with a mistake in the side. Yesterday Moura AGAIN, following on from his silly red card at Everton.
Spurs had more than enough chances to win, and I think other than the first 15 minutes, Liverpool`s only other shot on target was the winner gifted to them by Spurs.
Of course the ref didn`t help, as usual all the big decisions went in Liverpool`s favour. Richarlison getting pulled back was a clear penalty, and just watch, Salah will be barely touched next game, and the ref will point to the spot. The boot in the head studs up from Jota was also the clearest ever Red card offence. How VAR didn`t intervene is anyone`s business.
Anyway that aside, I thought at least Mason has had the team playing on the front foot for most of the last two games, without actually getting the rewards the team deserved. But it is at least showing green shoots of recovery.
I still expect Spurs to sneak into a Conference place at the very least, as compared to Brighton and Villa, they have a much easier on paper run to the line, and expect somewhere between 7-9 points from the last four games, which should be enough, giving the difficulty to Brighton and Villa`s fixtures.
Need to stop shipping goals in the last few minutes as well, last few games
Southampton, conceeded 90+3 lost 2 points
Everton, conceeded 90 lost 2 points
Bournemouth conceeded 90+5 lost 1 point
Liverpool conceeded 90+4 lost 1 point
That`s six points thrown away from the 90th minute onward. The concentration levels are awful, and that needs addressing.
Anyway season nearly done now, just get as many points as possible, and we then reset for next season.
COYS
Yesterday showed the good and bad

Agree with this paragraph.
Must say the refereeing in this match was abysmal.

Mason seems prone to making very odd substitutions late in matches. Why take Perisic off? And why on earth put Lucas Moura anywhere near the pitch?

You seem to have an aversion for Romero.
He's the best defender we have, by far.
I've often thought that he plays like he couldn't care less, but last two games not so.
Think there are many more problems with Dier and Davies at the back, and also our midfield which seems to allow opponents to play in our half of the pitch for 90% of the game.

"I think if you put a couple of top CB’s beside him, Romero would thrive Sandy. He always has his dodgy moments because of his temperament, but Romero is quality. Unfortunately he’s been playing with utter s** all season in Dier, Sanchez, Davies and Lenglet. All s** defenders."

Here's the truth about Romero.
That's why he's a fixture in Argentina's World Cup squad.

He was responsible for at least two of the goals yesterday, three if you count the Moura backpass, where he still should have blocked the Jota shot, but was far to slow to react.

This is laughable rubbish.

Yeh that’s definitely an agenda against Romero Sandy has. Hasn’t rated him and has to stick by that opinion, which is fair enough i will never rate Royal, Dier or Sanchez no matter if they play the odd decent game. That being said, Romero is not the issue. Yes he needs to be less erratic i will agree, but you put a decent defence around him instead of the rubbish we have, he will be brilliant

Not an aversion Ted, I just don`t think he is very good, and makes as many mistakes as the rest of the defence. If that had been Sanchez at the weekend gifting Liverpool a couple of goals, everyone on here would have been all over it. Romero gets a free pass though. Very strange.

But you are giving him a free pass Don, for constantly making errors, giving away penalties, getting reds. WHY? Would you give the same leeway to Sanchez or Dier? Smacks of being very hypocritcal not to call out Romero for his mistakes as well, that have cost Spurs plenty of times.

Read what i said mate. I said he is erratic at times and needs to calm down. Major difference between Sanchez/Dier is that they are awful defenders. Romero isn’t.

This "gifting Liverpool two goals " is absolute bullshit.
Sandy...you are losing it mate.
No other explanation possible.
