Same tactics away from home

Or should we drop Richarlison for Sarr and keep Dier on the bench.

A pivot midfield away from home seems a dangerous ploy and has been all season.

One aspect of the tactics that was pleasing and that by all accounts, Mason and the team worked on, was the notion to drop deep and allow opposition time on the ball. This was a very pleasing change on Saturday.

We score the goal and kept up the pressure and looked to score more goals.

I always liked the fact that we changed the formation depending on whether we had the ball or not. Not just one way of playing. Without the ball, we have Emerson retracting and defending - which he is good at, and Porro doubling up with him on Zaha. On the attacking phase, we had Porro moving forward and crossing, which he does very well, and Emerson just behind.

Dynamic elements in the tactic formations meant we coped well with their prolific attack that had scored a few goals prior in previous games.

Mason has shown some tactical masterstroke on Saturday. Think, he may again revert back a back four this next game, with us going 3-4-3 on attack.

I would say Richarlison did well, but against Villa, it would be better suited to Kulu's dribbling skills.

I would put Kulu instead of Richy. The worry is Lenglet's position. I would hate to have to really depend on Dier coming back, or Sanchez filling in that gap.

We will probably revert to a tried and tested Conte system, and fack the players up again, but hope not, Mason's got this

Just no more Dier either way.

Think that he may do Luka, King Antonio definitely wouldn't

Wouldn’t be against this. However can’t see us playing Kulu at LWB. Emery’s villa play very narrow through the middle, with any width they need coming from their FBs.
