In my opinion! I mean if we want to talk about Tielemans, Ndidi, Soumare, Perez (played his part in this shambles), Amartey - I mean I can see that

I think you’re spot on when you talk about perception. No one knows him except his family and we jump to conclusions based on what we see. You could be right, you could also be being very unfair to a player who has contributed alot to the club. If there are players to point the finger at for being in this mess - it’s not James Maddison.

You can only go on what you hear and see. For me, I hear a guy who seems to be arrogant, complacent and lacking any real introspection about the situation we're in, and I see someone who goes missing in big games and who's had less than a handful of good games since the World Cup. I'm not saying he's our worst culprit, but his clear skill and quality makes him one of the most obvious, in my view.
For me, he has a real Spurs vibe about him. I wouldn't be at all surprised if both him and Rodgers ended up there. Match made in heaven.

Goodness, that feels so harsh! I see a guy who is honest and who cares. It comes across in spades in his interviews - he’s enthusiastic, he clearly wants to get better as a player and people quickly forget how instrumental he’s been in our attacking play. Not his fault we give teams a 2 goal head start he has to try and make up for.
Yes he’s cocky and if I’m honest that tends to wind us brits up. We just don’t like that. But I think he’s being treated quite badly by Leicester fans and has become an easy target. There are far bigger culprits than him in my opinion - he’s carrying an awful lot of them

Forest 1-0 up. Getting closer. Us and Leeds to go down

Never said my perception on him wasn't harsh. Perhaps it's a little unfair on him. But when you flippantly say "we'll be fine" whilst in the middle of a relegation battle and belittle genuine concerns that fans have expressed, you become a poster boy for a perceived complacency and make yourself a target for fan backlash. That was a massive red flag for me and a sign that there was a fatal misunderstanding of the predicament we were in.
Again, I appreciate that it might be my own perception of him but unless he starts performing in the final three games, it's not one that I can give him the benefit of the doubt on. He is clearly a talented player with a lot of skill, unlike many of his teammates - time for him to start showing it, or GTFO.

Looks increasingly likely that Forest and Everton will survive. Today will be a crucial day. Player for player, we have a better squad than both, but they have more heart, fight and commitment than we do. That's the difference. We could be gone by the time we go to Newcastle.
Out of us, Southampton and Leeds, I think the latter two will have a better chance of automatic promotion than us. Especially as they'll probably keep the bulk of their squads, whereas we will be looking at near complete rebuild levels.
A complete shambles of a football club that deserves nothing less. From best run club in the country to one of the worst in a few short years.

That confirms it doesn’t it? We need at least 4 points from Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham. Not happening.

It’s gonna be a long long time before we’re back here again. Best we can hope for now is that Top loses faith and sells us. He probably won’t sadly - but it’s the only way we rebuild successfully. Under his leadership we’ll end up in league one in a couple of years and docked points in the process. Top is exactly what I’ve been telling Mersey for months - an absolute disaster. He wouldn’t have it…..

We'll be gone by West Ham IMO. Entirely plausible that Forest draw or win at Chelsea, Everton win at Wolves, then we lose against Liverpool and Newcastle to confirm relegation, rendering the final game meaningless.
The comfort blanket of "we can beat West Ham" has always been based on the assumption that we won't already be down by then. That now looks very unlikely.
