Big news coming out of Spurs in their managerial search. Julian Nagelsmann is not being considered as a candidate for the vacant head coach post and the club insist they have not met with him and do not intend to.
Plenty of respect for the German within the north London club but he is not being seen as one for them for now. Big decision that.
Bottled it again. Maybe Slot is the one?
Or maybe Nags rejected us?
Nagelsmann not happening

Let’s face it, Naglesmann was too expensive for Levy.

Levy’s time is truly up but you watch - so many fans will, once we get linked with a coach, find a way of saying that he was the better option all along, even though he quite clearly won’t be. I think it’s a coping mechanism. They have to find the sweetcorn in the turrrd somehow. It won’t be true though. Anyone we get in now won’t be Nagelsmann. Won’t be Poch. And we shouldn’t forget that. However this shapes up, Levy has failed. He’ll probably feel that, having been rejected by Nagelsmann, he’ll need to find another big name and he’ll jump head first into appointing Luis Enrique which would be a feckin disaster.
No matter who we get in, he has to go. ENIC have to go. Enough is enough. What’s it going to take to force them out? Realistically, nothing. They go when they want to go. We’re stuck with them for as long they want it. It’s up to us to make things untenable. Absolutely tear the cuuuunnnt a new arrrrrrrsehile at home to Brentford. Feck clapping the team off. Spend that time hounding the feck out of Levy. I want that cuuuunt in tears by 4.45pm.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I shall be at the game, and supporting the club and the team. You can sit in front of your TV ranting like feck. Nobody at WHL will give two hoots.
You are a right weirdo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes...but you chickened out of your Friday meeting with me at the Freemason's Arms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ted, I told you I am not in London on that date, so FFS is that what you call chickening out. Will I call you a chicken if you don`t meet me in London, when you are not in London? I am beginning to think I may have actually had a result not meeting up if you are going to take that attitude.

If not Nagelsmann, why haven’t we gone for Poch, fed up with this club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why go for Poch? I just don`t get it. He had five years to win something and didn`t. So why would you go back. It is so boring hearing the nonsense about Poch. He had his chance, move on.

Apparently Paul Robinson ( what did he ever win ) thinks Spurs approached Nagelsmann's 'people' who said "forget it, don't waste your time"
Within the same Beeb article, we also have Nigel Reo Coker ( again, what the fack did HE win ? ) saying "He looked at the Spurs situation and said, no not for me, I am too good for that"
Seriously, two quotes from two nobody's, neither with any actual factual proof of correctness, but the the Beeb print these mor*ns on the main football page anyway, thinking it is actual news.
Jeez, where did journalistic and pundit quality go to, if these people are actually getting paid for opening their gob's with this sh*t and the Beeb souring there already poor reputation by pandering to them, simply for 'clicks'
Oh for some decent journalism to actually stimulate the mind and provide intelligent discussion.

I'd rather we approached them and they told us where to go than if we didn't approach them at all. If Spurs worked by any sort of sound logic then we would have tried for Nagelsmann and he said no, maybe because of Levy's requirements, and any reports saying we didn't try to recruit him are our attempt to save face, that we got rejected thanks to Levy. Not that by doing that it would work because with Spurs fans who rate Nagelsmann like me, it makes us look dumb.

Mourinho is washed up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Washed up managers don't reach successive European finals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He hasn’t done that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's 90 minutes from doing just that, and could win successive European trophies.
But our fans don't want that. Strange bunch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could, but hasn’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still won a European Trophy last season in his first season with Roma. He's an elite manager, however some supporters think he is washed up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Roeder also won the intertoto
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Roeder didn't win multiple titles and CLs though did he. Jose is just piling on trophies to his already ultra impressive tally. Imagine Pochettino can only dream of winning what Mourinho has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny you’re quick to claim City are financially doped. Yet Jose was exactly the same at Chelsea

Nagelsman`s demands obviously don`t align with Levy`s miserly way of working, Levy wants a `yes man` who he can bounce around as he sees fit.

There isn’t a lot of evidence to suggest that Nagglesman excels in setting up a club. I don’t think he is as good as people make out and don’t mind that we’ve missed out on him. Especially if he thinks he is too big for Tottenham/doing us a favour like the last few managers have done.
There are a lot of genuinely good candidates out there and as long as we have a good DoF structure I think we have high potential for success
