The Play-Offs

Full of excitement, drama, wonderful moments, pure heartbreak. A great way to end a season. But also surely one of the most unfair system going.

Sheffield Wednesday spent all season chasing the title, and finished on a massive 96 points.
Peterborough United snuck into the play-offs on the final day thanks largely to Derby County losing to Sheffield Wednesday. They finished a massive 19 points behind the Sheffield side.
Last night in the first leg of the semi Peterborough smashed Wednesday 4-0 to almost certainly guarantee their final place.
So, despite being demonstrably far better than their opponents over 46 games, Wednesday promotion bid looks to have come to an end in a bad 90 minutes.

Today we have the National League play off final, where Notts County meet a side who finished the 46 game season with 23 points less! County had to play a semi-final against a team that finished 35 points behind them - to put that in some context that is the gap between Newcastle in 3rd and the team that sits second from bottom in the PL!!!

It seems grossly unfair - but it is so facking good!!!

Today's games see Sunderland hosting Luton Town in the Championship (530), Barnsley at Bolton Wanderers in League 1 (15:00) and Salford versus Stockport County in League 2 at 19:45 - with all games LIVE!!!! on Sky Sports. Elsewhere, Southampton will probably be relegated by 5, Bournemouth can guarantee another season in the PL with at least a point. Spurs CL hopes could officially be over,
