Villa won't finish above Spurs. I suspect neither will Brighton. Still think Spurs will finish 6th.

Everton had 23% possession and 6 shots. 5 shots on target and 5 goals. The sort of freak result that happens occasionally. Rarely does pragmatic football play out like that.

Also 15 Brighton corners to 1 Everton corner. Brighton as they have for many seasons badly need a talisman striker. Evan Ferguson will be that player next season imo.

I watched the game, and Everton well deserved their win.

So did I hence my analysis of the game. I didn’t say they didn’t deserve their win. What I said was rarely to that approach to a game return 3pts. The Brighton GK didn’t make a save. Everything went Everton’s way, the footballing gods favoured them if you will.

Occasionally the sun shines on a dog’s balls.

You will finish 7th. Villa have Liverpool away and then play Brighton. Brighton have to play Arsenal, Newcastle and City, difficult to see a situation where both teams finish above Spurs.

Bizarrely I still make Spurs favourites for 6th. I actually think we'll probably fumble our way to winning our last two games. Which pretty much rules out Villa regardless, though I think they'll likely drop points.

So winning our last two would put us on on 63 points, which means Brighton would need 8 or more (vastly superior gd for them) to finish above us. I don't see them getting 8 points from Arsenal, Newcastle, Southampton, City, and Villa.

Villa are bang average.
