So now there seems regret that we didn't appoint Ten Hag when we had the chance.
Didn't we read that he didn't "interview well" and that the club felt we had dodged a bullet by not going for him?
So now from snubbing a guy who won 3 consecutive titles in the Dutch League and who's Ajax team schooled us but got Lucasd in the semi final, to now hoping that Slot is the real deal after he has won 1 Dutch title.
I don't get it.
This exact flip flopping and dithering is what saw us lurch from one manager to another and then end up appointing Nuno after 80 days.
Can't make it up, but can definitely predict some stupidness with Spurs.

Are we surprised?

Not to be pedantic but Ajax didn’t school us. In fact they played us twice without Kane and Sissoko (who was playing well at the time). They were better overall but a mixture of Lucas playing a blinder and them bottling it was the difference.

Spurs schooled Ajax away while Ajax schooled Spurs away although Ajax did come close a couple of times before Spurs scored the winner.

I thought we approached him, interviewed him, then left him hanging so long he got p 155ed off and told us to poke it.

I’m still not impressed by him

Hope this isn't a case of next cab on the rank then.....
And we genuinely see slot as the right choice....
Standard spurs really never getting it quite right.

I think ETH has just about got United performing at the level of their squad. Given the amount spent and size of the squad, may be a bit below expectations.
IMO he hasnt pulled up any trees. He's done well to organise them better and get a tune out of Rashford but his signings have been hit and miss and they are comfortably the lowest scorers in the top half.
I dont think we can feel that aggrieved at "missing out" on him. With Spurs squad and resources, he would have probably had us at 6th or 7th.
Managers like Howe, DeZerbi and Emery are the ones that have achieved more than the sum of their parts IMO

Fair point.
There seems to be this permanent uncertainty within the club.
Whether it's the type of manager, type of player, or even the type of DOF Levy wants!
Its riddled from top to the bottom.
It does not give me any confidence at all.
