Arne Slot says he is staying

Dan K. Arne Slot says he wants to stay at Feyenoord.

Slot: “I have been hearing a lot of rumors going around about other club’s interest in me. Although I am thankful my wish is to stay at Feynoord and continue working on what we created last year."

Slot continued: “There is not - and there has not been - transfer conversation and yesterday’s meeting was exclusively for an extension. All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. Looking forward to next season with Feyenoord."

Back to square one. Looks like he used us to get a better contract.

Who is going to reject us next? Amorim or Ange?

So we're recoiling at a £15m buy out clause for Slot but we're happily pisssing away over £100m on gradually poorer versions of Aurier at RB?

This club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No we are not recoiling over £15, we originally offered £13.7m and then Feyenoord said £15m. Then the changed it to £20m……………….if we had agreed that, what is the betting they would have pushed for £25m or higher🤔

The General Manager rejected us too
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which tells you everything you need to know about the project pitched to them.

Not a lot of people turn down tripling their salary
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They don't but they are still on a good whack and maybe come into a large bonus thanks to qualifying for the CL. You can understand why both would stay. Spurs can't offer CL or even Ropey footy.

Now my issue is will we get another Nuno type in for next season in the hope of getting Slot next summer?? I bet Levy is thinking that knowing that Slot's £6m clause comes into effect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Slot is signing a new contract though isn't he? So the £6m clause will presumably no longer be in effect
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His buyout clause s£5.7m and does not take effect until next year🤔
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, under his current contract. Word seems to be that he's signing a new one.

I don't usually comment on another teams manager search as it's for the most part really only effecting the fans of that team but it seems to be an issue at Spurs, I was pretty sure it would be Naglesman or Slot and now it is back up in the air?

I've been reading the chat about Levy last couple of days and again not my business but it's unusual imo anyway that there is such a distinction between the business side and footballing side of a club that almost makes it look like two seperate entities?

There will defo still be a manager out there who will want to come and change things up and it might be that it needs to get to season end before some can talk to the club but it would have been nice if you could have had someone in place to at least let you think about what changes are needed and start moving forward?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
good point about how distinct the football side and commercial activities have become. In fact, Spurs almost operate as a commercial entity that has football too, rather than a football club that has a commercial side to it. I hope the distinction is clear

Its almost 2 entities rather than 1. If you look at RM, it is a football club first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tottenham Hotspur Football & Athletic club operate separately from other entities with the Group. THSL for instance operate the stadium, whilst another company under the umbrella runs the training ground.

Is this even substantiated anyway?

Straight out of the Daniel Levy playbook - hell he could give them pointers of how they could have made it even more awkward

Just for clarification, evenSlot was surprised by the £20m buyout by Feyenoord, originally they wanted £15m AFTER we offered £13.7m. Then 24 hours later it was £20m and who knows what it will be tomorrow!🤔🤯

And people say that Levy is difficult to deal with?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surprise surprise, Levy quibbling over money. Again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is not Levy quibbling over money, it is Feyenoord moving the goalposts to create friction and make it difficult for Slot. He is under contract and they wanted him to honour that, which is of course their prerogative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I like how fans like Automatic contribute ZERO to the club and yet are incredulous about Levy not offering and extra £6.5m (total £20m) that they want for Slot.

I hear what you’re saying but it will seem like peanuts when we paying compensation for sacking Enrique in 18 months.

If they think Arne Slot is the man to sort this mess out, pay it. If they don’t, then why are they even talking to him?

They don’t know what they’re doing mate. You can keep making excuses for them, but ultimately you’re gonna have to admit they don’t have a clue how to take the club forward.

Spot on mate. If he is who we wanted then pay what Feyenoord want, otherwise stop faaaacking around. You would never see a proper club acting like this.

Levy is an utter embarrassment now, no one credible wants to work for him and the ground will be horrible for him next season if he appoints some absolute waster like Brenton

The added frustration for me is that levy, once again, has learnt nothing from the mistakes ge made two years ago with the nuno debacle.

Plus, Poch actually wanted to come back

Now we are gonna end up with Rodgers.
