So I fully expect us to win it, and therefore grab a CL spot irrespective of league position.
Congrats on Utd and Newcastle on getting CL footy next season, enjoy it because we will be back in the top two next season👍

They need 2 midfielders to replace Milner and Keita.
A striker to replace Firmino.
A RB to back up Trent or play if he gets moved up.
A centre back if they sell Matip, LB if it's Tsimikas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair. However Firmino barely played. So they have three players in Gakpo, Nunez and Jota who can all play central as well as left.
Gomez is back up to Trent who is rarely injured and extremely fit.
Agree on the two midfielders and possibly backups. For me £100-£150m and player sales of £100m covers it.
That's also not including some of the young players who have began to step up and others who may get more chances to do so. Jones has been excellent for a couple of months. Elliott had a really good period then had a bit of burnout having been used more than Klopp would have liked. Carvalho, who I think is going to be outstanding, a season under his belt will surely get more games.
There isn't a rebuild needed, just one or two starters and a couple of backups. The squad is easily second best in the league for me, despite the poor season and I think in the last 16 games or something, around the time of the system change, they have the second best form in the league after City.
Well let's just say I'm not as pessimistic as some!

What positions do you think Liverpool need?
Goalkeeper not needed.
Right back not needed.
Centre back, perhaps could do with a backup if Matip goes.
Left back perhaps could do with a back up if Tsimikas goes.
Two top midfielders needed.
Attackers not needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d broadly agree but I think we could save money on a CM by putting Trent on midfield and buying a new RB…but I’d only consider this if money and missing out on key CM targets become issues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That would mean switching away from the system which has started producing results, which incidentally is similar in structure at least to what the top two this season employed, showing how successful it is.

That’s assuming that the system that necessity dictated we switch to is the system we’ll continue with next season.

I'd say there's an extremely high chance that's the case considering how well we've been playing and the results produced.

100m in player sales? Seems wildly optimistic to me.
Even if you sold all of
Williams
Not showed any real calibre. 2m
Phillips
Looks like a solid Championship CB, possibly low Prem but he's 26 and barely played. 5m possibly up to 10m
Matip
1 year left, 31 - Maybe 10m-15m max
Tsimikas
Hard to get good money for a back up but you could so say 15-20m
Kelleher
Prob 10-15m. Good age, good potential but he's a gamble at the upper end of that price.
Even doing well selling them you will be closer to 50m and I doubt you will sell all of those.

I'd also say that's shifting 3 players that will need replaced for less than you get for them for it to be worth while and generally significantly less if you plan on using that money for other areas.
Liverpool are going to need to be savvy and very smart with their recruitment to keep up/get back to their recent levels.

We've got a good record with transfers on the whole so I have faith.

Yeah you should have a look at the fees Liverpool get for players in recent years.
For me:-
Williams £10m
Phillips £20m
Matip £20m
Tsimikas £20m
Kelleher £30m(rated highly and Klopp doesn't want to lose him).
Although there will obviously be other fees received also for young players who haven't made the grade etc.
Regardless the club have the funds to spend big. They've done it before and then balanced with sales. This cycle began this season with obviously Nunez and Gakpo coming in for £100m.
I mean we have spent £75m on a centre back, £60m on a keeper, £50m on a midfielder, £65m on a striker. Selling unwanted players plus Coutinho who wanted to leave balanced that and we ended up with a much better team, doesn't change that. If we continue to do what we have done, I don't see a problem. Although this season does show it was a season too late, we can easily make that back.

Williams
Phillips
Matip
Tsimikas

Nope.
Have a look at this.
Neco Williams £17m
Brewster £23.5m
Hoever £13.5m
Solanke £24m
Kevin Stewart £8m
Camacho £7m
Brad Smith £6m
We get good fees for young players who aren't even playing. It's how we've helped balance the big signings and I'm sure will be the case again after a good spend this summer.
