23/24 Line-up - Forest

After a rather large breakfast I am mired to the sofa. Whilst sat here pondering gardening (in a few hours)…I looked at some of the players rumoured / suggested and when their current contracts end…which based on contract length could result in reduced transfer fees:

6/2023: Lerma, Moura, Reiss Nelson, Zaha

6/2024: Navas, Djibril Sow, Rodrigo, Sheraldo Becker

6/2025: Henderson, Di Gregorio, Mavropanos, Buongiorno, J.David, T Buchanan

Looking at the above we could try for Lerma (wages) and Sow (30 - last year of contract) for DM / CM. Meaning we’d need to find homes for; Freuler, Kouyate, O’Brien and Shelvey.

Reiss Nelson or Sheraldo Becker (15 - also plays up front) as back-up to Johnson. Offloading Dennis in the process.

Henderson (5 - L - OTB) or Navas (5 - wages), with Di Gregorio (5) as back-up.

Boungiorno or Mavropanos for CB (12). Cook, Panzo and Soh to leave. Biancone to go out on loan.

Up front…Becker is already back-up, Rodrigo (10…would they take Wood as part of the deal if they went down) or Broja (5 - L - OTB). Surridge and Wood to head out the door.

Add in Lodi and for 95m your looking at a side of:

Henderson
Buongiorno Felipe Niakhate
Williams Danilo Sow Lodi
MGW
Johnson Awoniyi

Subs from: Di Gregorio, Shelvey, Aurier, Boly, Worrall, Richards, Lerma, Mangala, Yates, Scarpa, Becker and Broja.

If we manage to get 30m+ for our unwanted players then we 2
would have another 50m available, according to the muted 100m transfer kitty.

That would still leave us needing a LW / LWF…Bryan Gil, Emile Smith-Rowe (rumoured to be leaving) or Sancho on loan (all haven’t featured much)…and maybe a huge signing for LW / FWD e.g. Jonathan David or Smith-Rowe.

Would leave space for a couple of U21 Brazilians (Giovani and Maia) on Chelsea style purchases.

Total of 100-120m for what looks to be a superb squad!

I don't fancy Henderson, too injury prone imo.

Navas either on loan again with perhaps a option to buy would be better?

If de Gea possibly leaving Old Trafford, United might not want to lose Henderson as well. Even though Hendo has said he doesn’t want to go back there they could try to persuade him with a promise of the number 1 jersey and a pay rise. If they do let him go they will want a hefty fee.

I don’t know their contractual details but I would like to try for Billing and Gyoceres

Also had two Achilles tears in 19 and 22 and barely played in Germany.

Whilst he was quality, can we risk another biscuit?
