On a serious note, do you think Salah will stay? I know he’s recently signed a new deal, but you look like you need a bit of a rebuild and he’s one of your most valuable assets if you were looking to increase the transfer kitty.

He won’t be going anywhere. This has had to be explained to a few of our own fans who think it’s a good way to raise funds. Why would we sell our best player to buy a couple of others in positions we know need filling, only to create another void in the position he plays? He’s almost irreplaceable, we’d be in big trouble without his output, and we’d probably have to spend whatever fee we got for him to try and replace him. It makes zero sense.

You say that, but do you have the money to rebuild without selling players? A Liverpool fan at work has been saying for a while now he’s not convinced Mo is as fully focused on Liverpool as he once was.

Ronaldo is obviously a far far better player than Weghorst, but we were a better team with the Dutchman in, once Cristiano left. We obviously need a much better striker than Weggy but that’s a whole other topic

I actually think we do have the funds. The owners are under massive pressure this summer and they know it. Their overall spend isn’t high, though they’re not as stingy as many would say, we’ve spent a fair bit rebuilding the forward line. Now it’s the turn of the midfield, and I think it’ll be two starters and a promising youngster/squad player.

United fans acting like teenagers who’ve just had their first alcoholic drink.
