The plan bring in young world class talent ! according to the ownership!
The process ? seems to be conflicted:
I would assume that the ownership are aware of the essential importance of establishing the spine of the squad from a mixture of existing senior professionals , up and coming academy players & the best of the new costly arrivals.
Poch will definitely want to blend the best of what he has from the senior & academy pools and integrate the new talented players who have had a difficult start at Cfc.
The prospect of letting Kovatic & Mason Mount go, does seem to be a total contradiction of both the plan & process, as no matter what the structure of Poch's new squad may be both Kovatic & Mount would be part of the spine.
Yes Mount has not had the best of seasons, but nor has the fckn club with its administrative decision making.
The players may in all likelihood have come to the conclusion that they have had enough;
The club letting this go that far is concerning, but this is what you get with ignorance, instability and confusion.
My concern is that the 600m spent in the last 12 months, the loss of European competition revenue & the massive squad and accompanying contract responsibilities has now made FFP management the priority of the process?
I do hope that the club sit down with Mason & try one last time to work this out whilst there is the opportunity.
COY Blues! KTBFFH!
? The plan: The process? & FFP!

It has all been done wrong.
If you remember what I said last summer, I said we need to follow newcastles model (and we were ahead of them at the time) of maybe one or two signings whilst giving hall, mount, james, colwill, chalobah and others more minutes. Instead too many players, too much pressure and too much too soon.
We are now playing catch up in every sense.

Yes we are, that is the reality imo.
To say im deeply frustrated with the new ownerships absurd start is an understatement, but i will get over it!
Ok , where next, no point in crying over spilt milk.
I look at the squad list i do not recognize my club or a spine i can have optimism with.
But i suppose that a total overhaul and rebuild is on the cards unquestionably & this will be in part influenced by the management of the FFP compliance.
On the bright side i am optimistic about Poch and what he will do going forward, i'm really looking forward to next season!

If Poch truly wanted Mase , the club would do what it can to oblige.
It looks more the case that the player wants to leave to redder pastures...if that's the situation then let him go.
I'm more miffed at not keeping Felix who I rate higher...
But happy to go with the flow, we on the outside of these private discussions are not privy to them... yet..
Intentions have been shared and the consequences are what we observe now...
I'm not clear as to why some forum members suddenly see Mount as the future of the club ?

With all due respect Tway, as the article explains, it is about building the spine of the squad.
Historically this has required a back bone of homegrown & senior players, after which the new and squad players fit in, find there place ect.ect.
Personally i believe Mount & Kovatic are worth keeping to be part of the spine.
Mount is not the future, the spine is the future!

Both players want to leave. If I were the owners I would offer a one or two year extension at a good wage just to give Poch and the club a chance to start to turn things around.
