Because for 5 years you have been a counter attacking team with no ball playing midfielders and no defenders (or GK) capable of playing out from the back

Hopefully, it should see the end of Hojbjerg’s career at Spurs, but we have plenty of ball playing midfielders. Bentancur, Bissouma and even Lo Celso and Ndombele would fit into this category. Arguably Sarr too. With the exception of Bents, all of them struggled in a counter attacking team (and Ndombele because he’s fat and lazy).

A progressive manager will get a tune out of most of these players though.

Players need to be comfortable on the ball yes but Ange's system is all about movement, energy, creating space. A telling comment after a recent goal where the ball was crossed from yard or two inside the penalty box was 'we wouldn't normally look to cross from that far out'.

Has he even impressed for Napoli? I'd be interested to see if Ange wants to keep him and can do anything with him, but what we don't want is another failed unwanted player filling up a squad place because it's the cheaper option to keep rather than replace.

Will probably be the same for us should we keep him or not manage to get him out of the club. If Ange or whoever the new manager is could get a tune out of him, he'd be decent cover for Bentancur but it's a big ask.

Ndombele is one the most laziest players I have seen play for the spurs.

He is not even that slow but when running back it looks like he is running in treacle
