Shared regrets...

I hope you regular users of this board and loyal supporters of Leicester City will allow me a fleeting visit to the pages to express my regret that the football club and the city itself has lost its Premier League status.
It seems from a distance to have been somehow unnecessary and the result of a malaise within the club rather than ability of players.

The tragic death of our Chairman and losses of income to our owners during Covid is a huge factor and the management structure at the club was clearly not capable of making adequate decisions to fill the void.

I cannot comment on playing performance but it seems that to allow contracts to run down on players representing substantial company assets represents failure at management board level. I also wonder if the new Academy site, became a vanity project rather than a calculated investment.

Anyway i will only say that my criticism of appointment of Rudkin as D of F predates all !!!.

I wish you all well and hope for a speedy promotion for you. Where is Nev and Dungeon Master by the way?

It sounds you really don't see the City play at all now JG, what a shame that is, not that you've missed much except durge for the last Two Seasons.

All I can say we really are in deep Sh!t, First Foxello and now JG back on the board

Ah good to hear from you again JG. You might remember as the artist formerly known as BlackStarr. As you’ll no doubt know I’ve been airing my views on the rudderless direction of the club since Vichais passing for some time. I think a number of us have seen this coming and indeed seen Rudkin for what he is - a completely inadequate DoF who is ill equipped to be advising Top on anything let alone the running of a football club

The success under his tenure I think we can all see was the result of the previous excellent foundation building (particularly in 2011-2014) undertaken before Rudkins time. He happened to be there for our miraculous and unexpected success rather than being responsible for it. He had after all been DoF for 5 mins when we won the league. As with all things - time is a great revealer. When the chips are down, that’s when you see what your management board are made of and unfortunately for us they're made of paper and sellotape.

Unfortunately I think further pain is coming - the broken structure remains in place and with it, fuzzy decision making and procrastination. That doesn’t yield success and I think the next 12 months will be a steep revelation for some Leicester fans still holding out hope that Top and the board will get it right.

Oooh I think you’re turning to the dark side here Mersey! Welcome!!

Always welcome for anyone to post JG, good to hear from you.

I wouldn't disagree with any of your observations; unfortunately what has happened over the last couple of years has been mismanagement on an epic scale to take us from challenging for Champions League spots to relegation. Getting the finances in a mess, not realising that the manager in place was ill equipped to deal with changed circumstances, subsequently not replacing him until far too late in the season, allowing valuable players contracts to run down, not realising Rudkin is a massive part of the problem, not having a clear and realistic plan for obtaining a suitable manager for the Championship - the sorry list goes on and gives concern for this season and the future of the club. It is inconceivable that we would be in this state if Vichai had survived.

As for Nev and Dunge, they gradually posted less on this board and eventually stopped altogether. You might occasionally hear Nev on the Radio Leicester moan in on a Monday evening (as Graham if I recall correctly) although I don't think he's contributed recently. I trust all is well with both of them.

Yes, good to see Johngee post, to many sadly gone now, the Dunge and his ratings, Nev, Joby.
Even the pillock that blocks if you don’t agree with what he preaches would be missed if he left. You know, the ice cream man, and his problems, maybe the sun melting his lollipops 🤔😎🤣,

Well in the final analysis a club is about the fans and the support they give the players. And vice versa. This is not a new situation for the club and I am sure it will again succeed. It won't be easy but I wish you well
