The Submarine

Anyone else think it’s weird - almost Black Mirror-like that news stations have tickers at the bottom of the screen counting down in seconds and minutes and hours until the oxygen runs out? The Stepson of one of billionaires on the sub went to a Blink gig the other day saying his family would have wanted him to go and how he’s blown up on social media and is publicly hitting on supermodels. Of course the Simpsons also have an episode predicting this as they have everything else.

And the obsession over a few rich people in Schrödingers submarine is all consuming on every channel and newspaper yet dozens of migrants drown in the Med and it’s just another day? As you can imagine the barbs from the billionaire hating Gen Z online have been a mix of scathing and mildly amusing. The best I heard was ‘why don’t they just pull themselves up by their bootstraps’ and ‘eventually the air will trickle down’.

Some expert on news earlier was saying the pressure exerted on the sub would have been similar to the weight of the Eiffel Tower pushing against it

That would not surprise me. The water pressure at that depth would have been staggering.

Something like 4000lb per sq inch i think

Instant death, faster than they could blink, there won’t be anything left of their bodies and they paid 250k for the privilege

I don't read or watch the news, but was the guy who built it on board?

Probably better than four days in the dark and then a slow death

Apparently diving in international waters where you can do what you like and obviously in a craft that wasn't certified and the wrong shape for that depth

Guess what happens

The authorities informed the families. They’re said to be crushed.
