So in the space of a day it looks like we've moved on Mendy, koulibaly, kante, kovacic, ziyech, havertz for decent money while getting close to 60 million a season off the wage bill. I'm hoping this window can be what last summer should have been. Dead weight moved on early with select talent coming in. i can see the next couple of weeks being a similar story. The likes of RLC, Gallagher, Lukaku, pulisic, CHO moving on. Then a couple of signings in for pre season and off we go. Mistakes were made last summer but this is a good start to get us back on track.

*solution to the conundrum

If Lukaku and his entourage were smart they'd be negotiate that with whichever Saudi clubs that have attempted to sign him, anyway.

What might turnout transpiring in Lukaku' case is...he makes the move to Saudi and they loan him to Inter. One possible solution the conundrum.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that happens then it's undeniable that it's just an ffp fudge.
Having said that, Arsenal paying 60m for Havertz and AC Milan allegedly preparing a 40m offer for lukaku does suggest that the market is very stupid right now.

I genuinely don't feel the Saudi stuff is a fudge. If it was just us benefitting i could maybe see it. But the fact they're recruiting high profile Muslim players from around the world kind of kills that theory.

To which the Saudi club responds, "so we buy him, he f**ks off back to Inter... and we gain what from this?"

Depends how you define fudge? The theory we're using connections Clearlake already had with the PIF prior to acquiring Chelsea (to my knowledge) to offer certain players to clubs they now own in Saudi Arabia is very believable, and maybe I'm missing something right in front of my face but I don't see anything wrong with that? It's businessmen utilizing connections to reach mutually beneficial transactions. In other words, it's business

Lukaku is of high demands to Saudi, they will yield to his conditions and demands.
Clubs in Saudi can afford to wait a season or two for him to finish at Inter in a favorable deal, to acquire his services now. They are not going anywhere anytime soon.

First point I don't doubt at all.
Second point's wishy washy. Why wouldn't they just buy him when he's found peace at Inter & is ready to go? The only reason they'd buy/loan out is to do us a favour, why would they do that?

Laukau (& entourage) can quite easily negotiate and set-up a deal on the condition that he's allowed to leave on loan. Saudi clubs will accept.
Favours all parties involved, mainly Lukaku.
