Iheanacho to Forest

Talks were held last week and personal terms could be agreed this week. Of course Iheanacho only has a year left on his deal so once again we’re not in the best negotiating position. He’s keen apparently as you’d expect - who’d have thought it 12 months ago - our players would be getting picked off by Forest? That’s a remarkable achievement when you think about it.

Leicester will try and hold out for a ridiculous fee as they are with Maddison - but that will only end up costing us money we no longer have if we try and hold onto them and will of course affect the squad

If Top is so delusional that he can't see Rudkin's faults that's one thing but surely there are others at the club that can & should be advising him. Either that or he hasn't got the bottle to sack him. Until & unless he does then I just can't see the club recovering from this situation and a long time in the wilderness beckons

I hope we're wrong about this and we'll soon be lauding Rudders as a genius. I fear you're right.

Nuneaton I agree with your sentiments in hoping we're wrong about the DOF and believe you me, having supported City since the Gillies era and experiencing all the highs and lows, nothing would make me happier for Rudkin to prove me wrong and see us return back to the Premier League at the first attempt. I'm just not convinced .

When it comes to Top I’m afraid you guys still sound like the fans that were willing to give Rodgers time when it clearly wasn’t working, simply because of past glories.

I’m not sure how much more evidence we need that this guy can’t run a football club. Is the transition from top 5 to the championship inside 2 seasons not enough? What about the record losses racked up because we sanctioned an unprecedented net spend spree right after Covid? If we don’t go up this season we are in serious points deduction territory

As if anyone needs any further proof the guy isn’t learning a damn thing - he’s asked the arsonist to investigate the cause of the fire. I mean seriously guys - when are you going to get it? 😂 He doesn’t have the minerals - it isn’t going to come good

We’re all not convinced and we all hope we’re wrong! 99 is convinced he’s not. Time will tell.

Leicester getting promoted at the first attempt would be a relief but not necessarily an indication that all is well and good and lessons have been learned. We may simply hold on to some very good players for the championship level (Daka, KDH, Albrighton, Evans, Justin, Thomas) etc and with Marescas improvements and some money spent - we could go back up.

The real proof is what would happen if we did get promoted. That’s when you see what your leaders are made of. I’d need more than just hiring Maresca and getting promoted to be convinced the corner has been turned. That would simply be putting out the fire Top and Rudkin started. They need to rebuild the house - and that is where I’m afraid both of them will come unstuck

It seems to me that there are at least three key bricks missing before they can start the rebuild - assistant manager, club doctor (last one returned to Rangers after one season) and shirt sponsor - unless I’ve missed something. At least season tickets sold out unless they’ve reduced availability to fit demand.

I fear we could have a very transitional season with a mush mash of players left in the squad. I hope not.

I'm not disagreeing with your thoughts, but the family have earned sufficient brownie points for Top to be given some more leeway with me. Sooner Rudders is out the door/moved sideways the happier I'll be though.

Yeah but it’s the same logic as Rodgers being given brownie points because we won the FA cup. At some point you realise that Top isn’t his father and what his family have done isn’t relevant to how this guy is operating the club - which is disastrously. He’s showing no signs of learning anything - so at what point do you say - he’s not right to lead us?

Later this season I suspect.
