Marc-Vivien Foé

20 years ago today since the tragic passing of Marc-Vivien Foé at just 28 years old during a Confederations Cup semi-final match featuring Cameroon and Colombia, it was made even more shocking due to the fact it was broadcast live on TV.

He was the last Manchester City player to score a goal at the Maine Road ground. His shirt number 23 was retired by Manchester City.

Whilst my memory may have faded with time, I seem to recall he was one of the few who would always put a shift in when times were bad. Sad loss.

The last time I saw him play was a Goodison.

He scored and ran to the Everton fans, realising his mistake, he bowed, turned and ran to our fans to everyone's amusement.
