& why not!
All good things come to an end.
The truth is Mason has been one of the few top class Cfc academy footballers Cfc have produced.
He has also been one of the lowest paid players considering his ability.
The club both ownerships were not prepared to manage his contract with the due respect he deserved imo as a academy player.
Other players who are no where near his ability have been substantially paid more.
Check out Sportstrac.
Also human nature, the club has been through a torrid time over the last 2/3 seasons, he may well just need a change.
COY Blues KTBFFH!
Good luck, Mason!

Sorry to lose him and we didn't manage his situation well enough. I am not surprised or upset that he's gone nor will I boo him on his return but he sadly will get a lot of stick. I believe its pointless as it only spurs the player to perform better in an attempt to shut the crowd up and that goes for any player. A lot are upset, I am dissapointed that we didn't manage him better but I blame neither party for that. It's Bern a tough 18 months or so.

yeah , the club for what ever reason , unbeknown to us have not managed him and his contract carefully enough.
The ups and downs over the last three seasons will have effected him, he more than likely needs a fresh start.

Fair play to you

Good luck to him. I'm not convinced he fits United personally, Liverpool would've been a better move, gunna find it hard winning over their fans who typically like a level of technical quality in their midfielders he doesn't quite have (they'll favour Fernandes over him I think) but we'll see. ten Hag's a good coach so I'd trust he has a plan.
A little regretful as he was the academy boy I believed in soon as I saw him playing in the PL, even James took a bit of time for me to be convinced by, but thems the breaks I guess. Money's reasonable considering he had a year left.

As a Chelsea fan, I am sad to see a home produced player leave. He's a good player, whatever anybody says. I'm surprised that Chelsea didn't offer him then same money as some of the new signings and he has the right to look for a better wage packet. I am also happy with the money we got, as even with longer left on his contract, I don't think we could have got more than 80 million - so 60 in the current climate and conditions is fine. I also think we need a more explosive player linking midfield and forwards - Mount and Havertz were too slow for me. I suppose time will tell whether we live to regret letting him go. Mata was technically a much better player and we did well without him so hopefully we will do well without Mason too.

No ill-feelings towards Mount at all.
Employer withdraws an offer of employment, you don't sit there and wait hopefully for them to change their mind. You take the hint and make your own arrangements. It doesn't for one second mean you WANT to leave.
Inability of some people to put themselves in another person's position is mind-blowing.

Adios, mediocre at best and lived off one good season ala Willian
Loftus also gone, good, get rid of Hudson Odoi now
Get rid of these crap youngsters 2.0, none even better than the crap high school year of the Kakuta’s

Ironically Cmf spent 3 years sucking Kakuta’s sausage as well
Cal is the new Kakuta, just not as talented
