Great news
CalMac, Kyogo and Maeda all committing to longer futures at Celtic.
It look like the board are being very proactive here. Safeguard our assets and more than likely putting in large transfer fee clauses to protect us if anyone does wnat to sign them.
I have a feeling CalMac getting a new contract not only ensures we'd get a considerable fee if he did leave but also with our structure not allowing players to earn more than the captain then it means he gets a raise to allow bigger players to come in on bigger wages and still fit the structure.
CCV only signed last year but I'd be keen to get him, Hatate and O'Riley signed on longer contracts. That ensures a bigger fee if they leave and also gives us a great spine to the team for the next few years where we can supplement around that

He's to be applauded for many good actions on Celtic's behalf. But he must be severely criticised for the absolute mess he made of the transfer fiasco of McGinn, Boyata, Castigane and others. His meddling and penny pinching ultimately led to Rodgers leaving and we know how that went.

The McGinn thing when you look back will have been the final straw for Rodgers when he turned to the dark side and became a rat.
As I said look at his tramsfer windows for his first 18 months then compare it to the rest. Signings of McGinn and Castagne were of the ilk he wanted but instead he got Lewis Morgan and Molumbu.
I don't want to defend the rat but there is no way he was happy at the boards handling of signings and yet he wanted they players.

I’m hoping that we’re getting the contract extensions done and then the signings will start. Good to see McGregor being signed up, although I doubt he would be going anywhere at his age now anyway.

Kudos to him for quickly realising he wasn't going to be a regular at Celtic. Him, Klymala, Harper all making excellent careers at Red Bull albeit Morgan has had a bad injury this year.
