No cash in the champ
If done right (big if)
Should do very well
Left back
Couple of midfielders
Striker
Not alot needed really, squad was huge last season(including loans)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had one loan last season didn't we? I am not sure where you get the idea that the squad was huge unless you count under 21's, there were only 2 teams with smaller senior squads last season, Southampton and Wolves, we had 21 senior pros registered, the same as City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guess what you mean is huge by Championship squads standards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Am talking players on loan too
Llorentre
shackleton
Joffy
drameh
Cresswell
James
roberts

Have I missed anyone 🤷🏻♂️

I think this makes sense, £5m in wages off the books and around a £3m fee. We haven’t lost anyone significant yet…as in Harrison, Adams, Gnonto, Sinisterra and Summerville, a few new faces and we should be good! On a side note, I didn’t realize Brereton Diaz went to Villarreal on a free, not long ago Blackburn wanted £20m+.

Think folk have short memories. Rodrigo been poor over 3 seasons for £28m. Scored goals last season but he’s had plenty of injuries and given the ball away cheaply for 3 seasons. I’d give him 6/10 overall for his stint and the club.

Don’t think I will miss Rodrigo to be honest. Yes he had a better season last year but he’s not what we need in this league.
Having watched todays game I think we can only get better - especially if Adam’s, Sini, Harrison, Wober and Gnonto stay.
James wide and Bamford might just work with Joffy coming on later.
Rutter has a lot of work to do to convince me though. He looks so clumsy at times.
Defence? Lots if work needed but Drameh looked ok.

Ya what, he’d rip the league up.
You need good players, which he is.
Right thing he has left (too cheap) but come on, he’d be best player in league

Should never have signed him in first place 30 mill for a player who was going to be worth zilch at end of his contract and no great track record in England.
Overall a very poor return for our outlay.

Agreed Jonty
I like him, good attitude, likeable.
But financially it never made sense, and been hit and miss

If he had helped keep us in the Premier League then it would have been a reasonable investment. He was never bought with the intention of making money on him personally.
As it is, he didn't, so the investment didn't work. I wouldn't say that the signing didn't make sense, though.

Good players don’t always shine in this league. We need players with Championship experience.
I’m not saying he wouldn’t rip it up but I am saying I don’t believe that’s a given.
At 32 the player is on his last contract. Good luck to him. He seems a likeable guy who did try his best for us.
