Rumours flying around the last few days that both Sir Jim and the Qataris are (separately) actively looking at buying or investing in other clubs.
Ratcliffe, who is a friend of Joan Laporta and explored a deal for 50% ownership of Barca before they started pulling their 'palanca' financial levers, is rumoured to be looking at the club again.
Meanwhile, various journos are talking about rumblings that the Qatari 'consortium' is starting to run assessments on alternative PL club options, including Spurs.
Now, how much truth is there in any of this? Who knows; could quite easily be absolutely zero.
But how typical would it be of the Glazers if it turned out that they did ultimately want to sell up, only for them to have pessed the only two serious bidders for the club off so much already that they decided to invest elsewhere

As if they were ever selling

Be funny if Qatar brought spurs, then the Top 4 was forever made up of Spurs, City and Newcastle with the financially mortal fighting it out for 4th.
You’d soon see utd fans lambasting the fact they didn’t buy us.

They aren’t selling.

I’m beginning to really believe this.
I don’t see any financial benefit to the Glazers in continuing to draw the sale out. And we already know very well the sole criterion on which they base their business decisions.

Forgive my ignorance
There was talk early on in the process of possible stock market manipulation by the Glazers. Would that be the case if the sale didn't go through ?

They are not going to buy Spurs if Liverpool are still available.

I don’t know enough about US corporate law (to say the least), but I would guess that if the Glazers had been selling shares or trying to sell shares during the bidding process they could have ended up in trouble.
I haven’t read anything about them doing so, or attempting to do so though.

Old financial trick, spark rumours of a takeover and the share price will immediately go up.
Remind me who the major shareholders at United are.

I think it’s kinda cute that people still think the Glazers are selling the club

They would if they got offered the 6 billion they were asking for.
They are playing a game of chicken with the two bidders. It will backfire on them when they both pull out.

Share prices going up means nothing unless the shares get sold. And they can just as easily drop.

It’s the old ‘set an unrealistic price and say they tried their best when it all falls through’ routine.
