Wonder how that works if we have 15 players with loan out clauses.

Be an interesting hour at training ground.

Could see it sounding like the seagulls off Finding Nemo!!

Just made the same comment elsewhere Kebab - you'd hope some due dilligence was applied to the contracts at the time. Key word being 'hope'.

Seen a few claim, that these players wouldnt have come without these clauses.

Utter nonsense, for the amount of players, who have it, means Leeds United instigated them.

My theory is, Leeds thought theyd be clever by offering Loans deal in exchange for bigger wage reductions if we went down.

Utter madness

I think that's almost certainly the case Wakey... and why they proclaimed we would be in good shape financially if we were relegated... as our wage bill would be certain to reduce dramatically. Doesn't account for asset depreciation and both the real cost and opportunity cost of replacing them.

The devil's in the detail, I think it's true that in our situation having tools in the bag to offset fears of relegation for new signings was necessary. Sounds like this was part of the pitch rather than a last gasp negotiation tool.

Aaronson for example has this loan clause…if we fail to get promotion can he keep going out on loan? Effectively leaving for free!

May have been said on this thread or elsewhere
but we can't send out more than seven loans a season
unless we add U21s. Apparently. We've sent out five
(and did anyone want those five here anyway?).

Maybe the club knew Orta fcked us with these clauses.
And so getting the crap out protects any other sellable
assets who also have one of these idiotic clauses.

Maybe?
