First time I've heard a Leeds owner mention women's football upon takeover.
Women's sport is seen as a massive growth area with women's football at the forefront.
I wonder if Leeds might now move to a prominent role in Women's football and if this is one of real reasons 49ers invested, there is massive growth potential here, far more than in the men's game.

Could this be real reason for investment?

No
Depends how you measure growth.
Yes there is going to be a growth in crowds, fans watching etc etc.
But growth in revenue in actually numbers, will not increase anywhere near the mens game.

And am not anti women football at all before anyone starts.
I watch some of it and enjoy it.
Just dont see where the financials are to make it a big consideration in why we was bought

The women game will demand greater TV revenue, attendances are massive for big tourneys and growing for WSL.
If Leeds can make transition to WSL then huge growth for them and with huge playing base in States there are big opportunities there too.
Do I think its teh main reason they bought us? Probably not.
But would one of fastest growing areas in sport give a great return on investment for a venture capitalist?
And with all due respect, that is all venture capitalists really want.

Am all for growing the Leeds women team, been a disgrace how its been treated.
Just dont think the women game, in the short to middle term at least, can financially make any money.
Its getting subsidised that much at the moment (rightly so) some of the stats are misleading.

Ive seen same hype in tennis re padel, but the hype around the women game is more solid.
I expect to see some investment in that area and a push to get in WSL.
