Captain

Who do we have as Captain next season.

I like Liam but he hasn't featured regularly of late due to injuries so may be its time for a new Captain under a new era? Ayling has filled in but you get a sense that his time may be coming to an end too.

Adams, Wober maybe - or keep Cooper?

Personally id like one of Adams or Wober to get it if they are willing to stay.

Your thoughts?

Im sure Cooper will take it on the chin and understand (like Maguire haha)

agree with luno

what does a captain do on the pitch apart from toss a coin
---------------------------------------------------------------------

He should do a lot more, should be the guy who is inspiring the others, or if a player is losing it takes them aside and calms the situation.

Unfortunately, as the season progresses there may be a possibility that Coops place becomes less of a shoe in than in recent years.
A couple of years ago, when fit, first guy on the team sheet, not sure we haven't got better options to start now.

best left footed CB is Wober, if you are looking for a right/left footed combo, Wober and either Cresswell or Ampadu gives you that.

Come on their professional players, do they really need inspiring.

And telling a player to calm down if they lost it.

So not alot then 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well maybe a good captain v Newcastle wouldn’t have let Bamford take that penalty?

A captain should not only organise and inspire but he should also have the authority to tell players when they are in the wrong - as well as convey the instructions from the bench.

We know players a professional but we also know that in the heat of battle they can make wrong decisions. Remember many of them are still growing up in reality and I’m sure many of us made bad decisions in our 20’s.

What does a captain do apart from toss a coin????

Why not just rotate it on a match by match basis then? They don't and there's a reason for it.

Manager should be the one who decides the penalty !!!!

Watch a game of football, its non stop, there is no time for a captain to tell everyone what to do.

Why you missed out “on the pitch” ????

And the reason they dont rotate is because its just not on the pitch 🤦🤦🤦

You're the ones saying all they do is toss a coin on the pitch, then why not just rotate it each match? It's your logic not mine.

Club captain, both on and off the pitch should be more than tossing a coin. Good ones offer way more than that to a successful side.

You could rotate it, but its logical to keep it as club captain.

You ever played 11 a side football ?

Literally, the captain toss coin and shouts abit of encouragement every so often.

Game is too fast, without any breaks, for the captain to be going around helping everyone. You dont even need a captain on the field.

The captain work is in training and making sure players are happy.
