Is it time to move on from the Caicedo

transfer?

It's a tough one, Brighton now value the player at 100m+ due to the market conditions.

1: The heated nature of the market , due to the demand for players:

2: The Rice transfer 105m ( incl add ons )

3: Cfc recent transfer dealings Fernandez 105m

the other issue is Brightons focus on Colwill who i doubt they value at a premium ?

(60m considering his ability, potential and his importance to Cfc.)

Personally i would prefer we kept Colwill , and make a final offer in the region of 85m.

If Brighton are not happy with that, i hope we would move on.

We definitely need at least one midfielder, but a profile that Poch wants. There must be better value than Caicedo out there. I wouldn't mind us getting a couple of better value short term fixes, with resale value. We need quality and depth.

Move on in my opinion. Think Brighton are overcharging as per, and I believe there must be lots of players out there with similar age, profile and potential to Caicedo who will be fraction of price tbh

What's the point of holding onto colwill we will never use him

Well that is an opinion, but looking at the strength in depth of the issues around our C/B position it may well be a perfect time for him to push and gain a place in the squad.

The have said they only want players who want to play for the club, if he has the desire & the quality with Poch he should get the opportunity.

Never use him in the Abramovich era imo was a possibility, in this new era it is an unknown at this point.

? loosing Forfana long term, you would think that considering all of the gaps in the squad , Colwill may well get a shot .

Don't really care either way if I'm honest

I like the player as a potential signing, he feels like a Chelsea midfielder (that Essien/Ramires/Kante type). The price is silly but our owners have long past the point of being a joke in transfer negotiations so that doesn't bother me, nor does the prospect of Brighton embarrassing us again cos that's not a good way to approach business - with a fearful mindset. But conversely, I couldn't give af if we signed no-one this window tbh.

Effective sells were more important this summer than anyone who was gunna come in, and for the most part we've done what we needed to do there.

Would walk away from Brighton completely. Casadei already looks the part
