Paris Saint-Germain have accepted Al Hilal's world-record £259m bid for Kylian Mbappe.
The French champions have given the Saudi club permission to speak to Mbappe after putting him up for sale and leaving him out of their squad for the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, having made it clear they only want to include players who are committed to the club.
Al Hilal's record-breaking offer is not the only one PSG have received. They have been approached with a mix of offers for Mbappe, including cash plus players, but Al Hilal have shown their intention by tabling the world-record bid.

So if PSG can get £259 million for him with one year left on he’s deal , Arsenal paid £105 million for rice with one year left on he’s deal realistically we should be holding out for £300 million for Kane with he’s goalscoring record . Football is fast becoming a joke with these sorts of offers floating around .
Seriously WTF ?

Okay, so they pay quarter of a Billion for a player.
He's only human.
What happens if he gets injured...it happens.
How do these buyers insure against that?
Do they just eat the loss by self-insuring?

Insurance
You clearly don't understand how these oil rich middle east states operate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I assume you're talking self-insurance?
Even the Saudi's won't like dropping a quarter of a Billion if mBappe got a broken leg, or worse. It can happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That won't be a concern to them. They could easily take the hit or have an insurance company they use for such situations.

The part i don't understand is that the offer appears to contain a clause allowing him to leave for free after one year to go to Madrid. WTF? So The Saudis can essentially write off 1 billion (because according to some sources, they'll be paying £259m plus £700m in wages for one year). Surely that's not right?!!! This is madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You do realise how loaded the Saudi state is, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get that but 1 billion for one season and absolutely no return on that investment? Come on. That's just ridiculous. We need regulation because this is just going to completely kill the game, if it hasn't already.
I know this isn't a UEFA issue but can't FIFA intervene in matters like this? It's just not sustainable.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is, from their prospective, it's not ridiclous. Their objective isn't business, it's notoriety. If you wanted to be famous, had 600 quid in your account, and had the chance to hang out in Hollywood for a year at the cost of six quid, would you pay it?

Wonder what would happen if the Just stop oil protesters glued themselves to the goal posts of the opening game of the Saudi season?

Just cut off their hands/body parts stuck to the goal posts and carry on.
Simple solution.

Wonder if Messi is thinking he should have waited for Saudi instead of going to the US.
