You expect a chairman to come out and say "Yes he will leave, he wants to go"

ANY Chairman who comments on speculation is always going to do so with the primary interest of keeping their player (if they want to) or extracting the biggest value from them (if they are open to selling).

In both circumstances, the answer will be the same! Unless the chairman is an idiot.

There have been reports of the player agreeing terms with us so it's not like we are pishing up a blind alley.
